The Pretender

Pretend to be someone’s boyfriend while hiding out with his family? This is too easy.

I’ve made some mistakes in life, but being an accountant for criminals has to be the biggest. I knew something was up for a while, but when the rumors reached me that I might be the one skimming money, I knew I had to get out of town and fast. Those guys aren’t exactly known for having reasonable conversations.
I bought the first ticket leaving the city, only to end up with a delayed flight, but a very adorable fellow passenger to wile away the night. Turns out he’s going to the same place I am, and he needs help with the family business’s finances. My expertise. Convincing him to let me be his pretend boyfriend and help with his troubles is easier than it should be, but it’s exactly what I need.

All I have to do now is blend in, hide out, and stay under the radar, all while enjoying his accepting family, interesting work, and the sizzling connection between us. As long as they don’t find out what I really am, I might be able to make a new life here. Now wouldn’t that be something?
