“Dad made all of the arrangements before we left Chicago. He must have really wanted this man's company,” Xiù said.
“It's perfect for our business. Export and imports, and one that can act as a dummy company in a way and still be legit,” Li said.
“Are you going back with mom and dad tonight?” Ren asked. He wasn't part of the family business even though his father wanted him to be. So, discussions about the business tended to bore him. He knew what he needed to know. He'd much rather focus on his art and comics.
“Well, we'll be staying,” Li said.
“Oh? Really?” The news both excited Ren and concerned him. It was nice to finally have family so close, but on the other hand, his brother, Li, was very much like their father. He wondered just how much of his freedom he was going to have now that his siblings were going to be living in the same city.
“You heard dad, we have a new company to manage,” Li said.
“And I go where my twin does,” Xiù said with a wicked smile. She pinched Ren's cheek. “Oooh, don't worry. We don't care what you do as long as you don't cause problems for the family.”
“As if I ever do,” Ren snapped and slapped her hand away from his cheek. “Why didn't Yìchén come?”
“Did everyone need to come to witness your impromptu marriage?” Li asked.
Ren pouted. “Would have been nice if my brothers and sister all came.”
“Well, Yìchén said he’ll visit later, claimed this kind of thing wasn’t to his taste’” Li said.
“What does that mean?” Ren asked.
“Forced marriage, family business. As you know, the little jerk is trying to avoid it the way you were,” Li stated. “I’m sure his obstinateness won’t last. Especially not with our current situation.”
“Situation?” Ren cocked an eyebrow.
“Why do you think dad and your mom are returning tonight?” Xiù asked.
“Ahh, because business in Chicago is heating up, right?” Ren speculated.
She nodded. “Which means business down here is also our father's concern. Enzo Castiello and the Lords of Chaos live in this city and surrounding areas. Father doesn't want you down here alone and with Li taking over that company, it gives us a stronghold down here.”
“We also need to be cautious of the Lords chapters in Tampa and Miami,” Li said.
“Of course.” Xiù nodded.
That meant more and more members were going to be coming to Orlando. Knowing that made Ren happy that his father had increased his security detail. If war was going to break out, he didn't want to be at the mercy of it.
“Catch you later,” Li said, hugging Ren.
“Call me if you need me to put the fear of whatever God he prays to into him,” Xiù said before giving her little brother a hug and kiss.
“That won't be necessary,” Ren said, laughing at her joke. Even though, he knew she meant every word. Ren watched his family leave, but his personal security detail remained. He looked at Montgomery, who was examining his father's wound.
“Let's go,” Montgomery said now that Ren's siblings and the extra security had left.
Ren followed behind them as Montgomery and his parents made their way through their home to one of the vehicles. Montgomery held his car door open for his parents, then climbed in behind the wheel. Ren walked toward the car, but Sakura stopped him. “I'm going with them.”
“We'll follow behind them in our car,” Sakura said.
“I'm married to him,” Ren protested.
Sakura shook his head. “If you think I'm going to allow you to ride in the same car with the three of them, you're mistaken.”
Ren huffed in his agitation. “Are you going to stand over our bed, too, when we sleep together?”
“No, of course not. But you just forced his hand into marriage. His father was wounded by your mother. The ride over won't be a pleasant one. Please, sir, just heed my advice,” Sakura pleaded.
