"Hello," Grant walks in with me in tow. I see Lauralee on Mr. Field's lap. Then, the little girl jumps and runs towards me.

"Mommy!" Lauralee shouts as she kisses me on the cheeks. Then, she raises her hands to Grant. I pout, feigning jealousy when she chose her soon-to-be daddy more than me.

Lauralee giggles.

"Daddy, we were playing!" Lauralee says. "Grandpa says that we're going to play more. He's going to build me a castle."

Lauralee gestures with her hand. Mr. Fields chuckles. I feel a bit nervous when his eyes landed on me. His eyes are… really kind, it makes me feel relax.

"Hello, Sonya. We finally meet. I heard a lot about you," Mr. Fields gives me his hand for a handshake. I receive it.

"I hope they were all good things?" I ask him. Mr. Fields is the opposite of Gloria. The former has a smile on his face. I guess, most of the time. He looks handsome and sweet.

But I guess Grant took his devastating handsomeness from his mom.

"Please take sit," Mr. Fields tells me. I sit together with Grant, and Lauralee's in the middle. Why do I feel like this is an interrogation?

When I look at Gloria, I feel the load lighten. I mean, she's not looking at me with critical eyes. She's clearly happy with me.

I smile widely. Then, Mr. Fields introduced himself.

"I'm Arnold Fields, welcome to the family," he says to me. "So, when is the wedding? I have to prepare my best suit."

"Six-" I say, but Grant interrupts me.

"As soon as we can," Grant replies. Gloria gasps and glares at Grant. This is the normal Gloria that I know. But what I'm surprised about is Grant's declaration.

"We can't wait for six months," he grabs hold of my hand as he stares at me. "I love you too much to wait so long. I want us to be family."

"Grant! A wedding is only once in a lifetime," Gloria says. "You need to give Sonya a wonderful wedding. A memorable one, not some hastily made up sh-"

Gloria stops when she looks at Lauralee; then, she smiles sweetly as she calms herself. It seems like she's going to cuss.

"It's fine with me, a simple wedding will do," I say to break the tension between the two.

"No," Gloria says. "This needs to be wonderful. Trust me on this one."

"Well," I look back and forth between Grant and Gloria.

"How about you work with wedding planners? We have people to do that. We pay them good money, and they do their work. Also, I'm sure you want to design your own gown," Arnold says.

Gloria's face lights up.

"That's great!" Gloria exclaims. "You can have a wonderful wedding in the soonest possible time."

"Thank you," I reply to her. I don't want to break her enthusiasm.

"Isn't this wonderful?" Arnold says. "We finally reach a consensus. Sonya, darling, let's set a time to talk with your parents."

We talk until late into the night. I enjoy talking to Arnold the most. He's an easygoing person, and I can see his love for Gloria. It's not an ordinary man who can have Gloria's heart.

Seeing that Lauralee's sleepy, we excuse ourselves. We need to leave now.

"Before you leave, can I walk with you for a few minutes?" Gloria asks me. "Only the both of us."

Arnold, and Grant who's carrying Lauralee, left the room. I'm a bit nervous.

"I have so many things I want to say, but let me just summarize this in a few words," Gloria says.
