He’s a million per cent made to be our pack leader.
I already know I’d let him mark me.
Even if he’s being stubborn now.
“Don’t you ever shut the hell up?” He scowls at me, before he paces back over to the dining room entrance and checks the hallway.
“Do you know what happens when an Omega goes into her heat late?”
He sighs loudly and rolls his neck before he turns back to me, this time not moving from his spot in the open doorway.
“She needs to be knotted so badly it causes physical pain. If an Alpha isn’t around to ease her through it, she can get sick. The pain can get so intense it causes the Omega to pass out cold …”
“Zelena hasn’t gone into heat. When that happens, I’ll be the one to ease her through it.”
“Shouldn’t she be allowed a choice in that?” I ask, raising an eyebrow his way.
He growls at me, and I know it’s because I made him feel like an asshole.
“It will be Zelena’s choice, and she will choose me.”
“Even though you’ve never spent any time with her?”
“I’m her true mate.”
“So am I.”
“We’ll see about that.”
I guess we will.
Chapter Sixty-Eight
Zelena
Russ and Dale still sound like they’re having fun , I think, passing the bedroom in my new dress. I smile as I avoid the temptation to join them. They could use some time to connect, and I could really use a decent meal, so I quit having crazy heat symptoms. I know Omegas need food and rest between bonding sessions with their mates, and if I’m about to go through my first heat, then I want to be well prepared.
I go back into the kitchen where I find our sandwiches are still good.
I take a bite of mine before I search for aluminium foil to cover up my mates’ plates for later.
The bread is divine, and it has the perfect amounts of ham and mayo.
It barely takes me five minutes to clean the plate of every last crumb of the delicious lunch Dale made for me. I suck down half a bottle of water when I’m done, then I start to yawn.
Wow. These heat symptoms are textbook classics.
The second my hunger’s been sated, I want to sleep.
Trouble is, the only bed in this side of the building is currently occupied by two amorous men who deserve a chance to bond as mates on their own. I step out of the kitchen and consider moving down the hallway to the dining room.
Two things stop me.
One, both of my Alphas are in that room, and I’m pretty sure being around them will stir up my heat.
Two, I’m so tired I think I would fall flat on my face on the hallway carpet before I got there.
It seems much safer to walk a few steps into the reception area and lay down on one of the comfy looking sofas, so that’s the option I choose, curling up on a couch and closing my tired eyes.
