I stood with my brothers and cousins and stared at the guests who sat patiently in their seats, waiting for the ceremony to begin. The sun began its descent across the sky, casting a soft pink and golden hue, alerting us that it was time. The rhythmic sound of the waves crashing into the shore soothed my nerves.
“Are you ready, Christian?” the minister asked.
“I’m ready.” I smiled.
I looked up the aisle and saw the girls lined up under the arch, holding their beautiful bouquet of flowers that Giuseppe elegantly arranged. When the music started, all of our guests hushed as the girls made their way down the aisle. Smiles crossed my brother’s and cousin’s faces when they saw their beautiful wives, along with Ella and Lily, who looked so grown up in their dresses.
The girls took their places on the other side of us. Georgia took her violin that sat on one of the chairs in the first row and smiled at me. Looking up the aisle, I gasped when I saw my bride standing there. She was a vision of beauty and grace. As Georgia strummed the wedding march, all the guests stood up and stared at my beautiful bride as she headed down the aisle arm in arm with her father, our eyes never leaving each other. The radiant smile on her face captivated me in ways I never thought possible, and it felt like time had slowed.
When they approached, Gordy placed his daughter’s hand in mine and our fingers intertwined as our eyes stayed locked on each other.
“You look gorgeous.” I smiled as tears sprung to my eyes.
“So do you.”
The minister said a few inspiring words before we said our vows to each other. As we stood facing each other, our hands clasped together, I stared into her beautiful eyes.
“I never knew it was possible to love someone as much as I love you. From the moment I met you, I somehow knew we were destined to be together. You are the reason I breathe, Charleigh Ellis. You’re my entire world, the love of my life, my best friend, and I will love you for eternity. I am proud to make you my wife, and I will spend the rest of our lives together making you the happiest woman alive. I love you so much, babe, and you have my heart forever.”
A tear streamed down her face as I brought my finger up and gently wiped it away.
“Christian, I never thought I would meet someone that I could love the way I love you. You have given me a dream that I never thought was possible. From the moment I picked you up off that bar stool and took you home with me, I somehow knew you were extremely special. And I was right.” A beautiful smile crossed her lips. “You are the most loving, caring, sexy, and generous man I have ever met, and I will love you for eternity. You have brought so much happiness into my life. Your father gave me my heart all those years ago, on this very day, for one reason and one reason only. He gave it to me to give to you. To love you and cherish you for the rest of our lives. I love you, Dr. Christian Kind, and I always will.”
“It’s time for Christian and Charleigh to exchange rings,” the minister spoke.
Conner handed me Charleigh’s ring, and I took her left hand and held it in mine.
“Charleigh, I give you this ring as a promise of my love as we become one until death do us part.” I placed the ring on her finger and brought her hand up to my lips.
She took hold of my left hand as she slowly slipped the band on my finger.
“Christian, I give you this ring as a promise of my love as we become one until death do us part.” She smiled as she brought my hand up to her lips.
“I now pronounce you husband and wife. Christian, you may kiss your bride.” The minister smiled.
“We did it, babe.” Our lips tenderly met.
Our family and guests applauded us as our lips stayed locked.
“Shall we?” I gripped her hand.
“We shall.” She grinned as we headed up the aisle.
My family followed, one by one, as our guests made their way to the tent, and we gathered for pictures. I pulled Charleigh away so we could have a moment alone.
“There are no words for how I’m feeling right now. You are the most beautiful bride I’ve ever seen in my life.” I smiled as I placed my hand on her cheek.
“And you are the most handsome and sexiest groom I have ever seen. I can’t believe we’re married.”
“I can’t either. Is it bad that I can’t stop thinking about getting you out of that dress?”
“Not at all. Because I can’t stop thinking about getting you out of that sexy tuxedo.” Her lips brushed against mine.
“Okay, you two. You’ll have plenty of time for smooching and sex when the reception is over. Let’s go get these pictures taken so we can get on with it.” Conner walked over, holding Isabella.
