"Just do whatever you want," I pouted.
"Yayyy! Alrighty then, get ready to have him over for us," she said with enthusiasm.
"Wait, when should I tell him about the pregnancy?" I asked.
"Not until you're sure how he feels about you," she said.
"Makes sense," I agreed, "If he doesn't pass…"
"Then he doesn't need to know," she completed my statement.
"Alright then," I sighed.

When I arrived at the office, I had my heart in my hand.
I paced back and forth outside the building before steeling my mind to go inside.
It was a simple task: go in, ask him, then get out.
There was no need to get sidetracked.
"Oh, Crystal, you're here?" Harold asked, causing me to halt in my tracks.
He ran up to me. Normally, I wouldn't mind, but I was in a hurry, had a speech and all that prepared. Talking to him was going to disrupt my focus.
"You look good," he said as he eyed my outfit.
"Thank you, Harold," I said with the nicest smile I could muster.
"You're off duty, right? We can actually have that dinner we rescheduled the last time," he suggested.
"Oh, that. I'm actually going to New York tomorrow," I said.
"To visit your mom?"
"Yeah, I've missed her a lot," I replied.
"Wish I could come along," he sighed, "But I already used up my vacation this quarter."
"Too bad," I said.
He smiled and pushed my hair out of the way. "We haven't had enough time together."
I got the chills and there was a tugging feeling of guilt.
I laughed nervously and took a step back, away from his hand. He seemed confused by my reaction, but I didn't blame him.
"Are you sure you're okay?" He asked.
"Well, you're the one who told me there were rumors about me going around. I don't think you touching my hair in that manner helps my situation," I explained.
"Oh, right," he chuckled nervously as he looked around.
Sure enough, some of the staff were staring. But they didn't seem to really care.
"It's alright though; we'll talk later, okay?" I said as I started to leave.
