West

A few days after we took the photos of Serena and her lover, Ivan flew in from where he was stationed to receive our report. After a couple of hours of listening to him go on about how right he was about his sister-in-law, Jase and Ivan get into a conversation about someone they both know and Logan and I escape outside to the shadows at the back of the house.

“Ivan seemed happy,” I say into Logan’s neck after kissing him thoroughly.

“Yeah. He can’t wait to give his brother the bad news.”

I kiss my way up Logan’s neck to a sensitive place just under his jaw.

“Mmm…you taste good,” I say into his skin.

“West!” Logan sounds breathless, which really turns me on.

“I ever tell you I like you in my clothes?” I ask. He’s wearing another one of my shirts today, and I bunch it up to run my fingers over a taut nipple.

“I remember you don’t like me wearingColt’s clothes.”

I growl low in my throat. “No, I definitely don’t like that. Don’t do it ever again.”

“Caveman,” Logan says against my ear, sending an electric charge through my body. He knows how sensitive my ears are.

Pushing my fingers into his hair, I tilt his face toward mine. “You never answered me the other day when I asked if we need more romance in this relationship.”

Blue eyes meet mine. “No.”

“But?”

“But…” He looks away, fingers curling at my waist. “I guess I just wish we weren’t a secret.”

I raise my brow. “I’m pretty sure everyone in this house knows we’re a couple.”

“Yeah, but…”

“But?” I prompt, trying to read his expression.

“But we haven’t told them outright. And what about the rest of the world?” He shakes his head, laughing. “Ignore me. I’m just really tired.”

Because he spent most of the last two days with his mother, we’ve hardly seen each other, which is probably why I want to get him in bed so badly. But what he just said—I know it means a lot to him, and I’m not going to forget it. Kissing him, I wait until he relaxes against me, the breeze off the ocean ruffling our hair as my lips move over his.

I don’t hear the footsteps approaching.

“Hey, guys, I—” Ivan breaks off, obviously shocked to find us in each other’s arms.

I move away from Logan, who falls back against the wall.

“What the hell?” Ivan glances from me to Logan’s kiss-swollen lips and back again. “Are you two—”

I don’t know what to say. I don’t know what Logan wants me to say. He just said he regrets the world not knowing about us, but does that include our fellow Marines? I try to meet his gaze, but he’s staring at Ivan.

Silence stretches out. Then a small laugh escapes Ivan’s throat.

“I know what this is. A joke, right? You saw me coming.”

I could try to pass this off as a gag, I guess. I glance at Logan again, trying to get a clue as to his feelings, but he won’t look my way.

“This is one of your bets, isn’t it?” Ivan asks, barking out another laugh. “You two are such clowns. You and that stupid bet. No telling how far you’ll go. Who won this time?” He looks from me to Logan, who licks his lips and finally opens his mouth to speak.

“Me, of course,” he says.
