She heard three groans and a bunch of cursing.
“You can see her ass!” Caden yelled.
The door opened, and she stepped in and quickly followed. Macy looked resigned, but the other three looked pissed.
“Guys, I’m sorry I didn’t pick something closer to a nun’s habit,” she said.
“It’s not funny,” Link growled.
It was excruciatingly hard to keep from rolling her eyes. “But please let me wear this. I won’t move from the lounge too much, and if I do, I’ll always be with one of you.”
“I hate that,” Caden said.
“What?” she asked.
“You’re getting your way.”
Her eyes narrowed on him. “I really want to kick you right now, Caden,” she said.
Macy tightened his hold on her. “We’re sorry. We’ll try to do better. Okay?”
She nodded and smiled up at him.
“Fuck, what are we going to do about her smile?” Jake asked.
“Get me out of here,” she begged Macy.
Macy grinned. “Let’s go.”
They walked out and headed toward the corner of the bar that sat close to the sub lounge, and the whole time they argued behind her. She guessed it would be hard for her to keep from physically hurting one of them, but she’d do her best.
Chapter Twenty
The night went better than he thought. The place was packed, but people could still move around without bumping into each other.
It was great that he had help with Cat. It made him relax because he knew they’d care for her. Now, she and Caden were arguing, and they walked toward the elevator.
They were all exhausted but buzzing at the same time because of the success of the club. He knew it was only the first night, but people told them how much they loved it and would be back the next day and tell their friends. He just told them to fill out an application online, and they’d look at it this week.
He finally got Cat into the condo, and the door locked behind them.
“Go in and shower while I check my messages.”
“Okay,” she said and walked off.
He hoped seeing her in the club would get easier. He’d never take it away because she had so much fun with her friends. None of them had been in a kink club before, so they had dozens of questions for her. But, he would get prematurely gray if he didn’t come to grips with it.
He checked the door to the steps that led downstairs. They had to have an exit to escape if there were a fire. He was about ready to close it when he noticed something had been scratched. His body went on full alert because that person could be in the condo if they had gotten through the door.
Macy took off his boots and set them on the side of the sofa, out of sight, and made his way toward the bedroom. He was halfway down the hallway when he heard whispering. He ducked into one of the rooms and listened.
“Where is that motherfucker?” a man whispered in his bedroom.
He recognized the voice and tried to think where he’d heard it from. Fuck, it was the guy he’d beaten from the elevator company. The motherfucker was going to get another beatdown.
“He’s not here. He had to go take care of things in the club,” Cat said.
“Ohhh, so we have a few minutes alone.”
