Page 46 of Worth the Risk

With Kylie, I have a friend and a lover. She and my sister have become close too. When Sophie is not here, they’re texting and making plans for when she comes back to visit.

My guard is lowering the more time I spent with her. I even catch myself imagining a future with her—something I’ve always said I didn’t want or need. Of course, I hadn’t met Kylie yet. She’s changing me, and I’m not sure if I should be happy or scared shitless. Whichever it is, I always need to be around her, and I don’t have it in me to stay away. She is quickly becoming my entire world.

It’s Friday, and Kylie thought it would be fun to plan a get-together with our friends. Nash is arriving today, along with Sophie and Amber, and Kylie invited her friends, Luke and Becca, as well.

Pulling into the driveway, I spot Kylie’s little red convertible bug. My heart rate picks up knowing I’m about to have her in my vicinity again.

Walking into the house, I hear laughter and make my way into the kitchen, where everyone is milling around the island with drinks in their hands. I meant to be home earlier, but some issues arose at the casino, so I’m late to a party I’m supposed to be cohosting. Kylie has it all under control, though.

Food is out and drinks are flowing. She’s wearing a cover-up as are the other girls. The guys are in trunks. I need to change but not before saying hello to my girl. Sneaking up behind her, I wrap my arms around her waist and lean in to give her a peck on the cheek.

“Hello, Sunshine.” Spinning, she wraps her arms around my neck and plants one on my mouth in front of everyone. Her kiss is just what I need.

When she pulls away and gifts me her smile, I look over at our guests. Nash is smirking at me, and Sophie has her chin on her closed hand, smiling at us. Sierra and Becca are grinning as well. Luke appears a little off guard, and I believe Amber’s expression shows she wants to be anywhere but here. I have no idea why she would feel that way.

A hand on my chest has me forgetting quickly about them, though.

“You’re way overdressed for this party. I have everything under control. Why don’t you change so you are more comfortable,” Kylie says.

“Yeah, I think I will.” When I head to my room, Kylie follows me, closes the door behind her, then stalks up to me.

Running her index finger down my chest to my abdomen, she gazes up at me with her seductive eyes blinking and full of lust. “I missed you today, Leo.”

“I’ve missed you too, Sunshine.”

She has become essential to me.

Wrapping her arms around my neck, she pulls down my head and presses her lips to mine. Hesitantly at first, but it soon turns deeper. Tasting alcohol on her mouth, I realize she’s already started on her drink of choice lately—daiquiris.

As I explore her mouth with my tongue, my shaft begins to harden, and as much as I’d like to continue, I pull away instead.

“Don’t start something we can’t finish. Unless you want the whole house to hear you moaning my name while I slam into you. I’m game if you are.” I wink, though I’m only half joking.

That gets through to her, and she moves away from me. She’s not a prude, but she wouldn’t want people to hear us. I’ve never cared before who heard me having sex, but with Kylie, her moans belong to me and me alone. No one else gets that part of her.

“As much as I’d like that, we can’t leave our guests unattended. Plus, if my friends see what you’re packing, they may get a little jealous.” She gives my bulge a little rub before rushing out the door.

Damn that little vixen.

Changing out of my clothes, I put on my trunks and head out to the party that they’ve now taken to the pool. Grabbing a beer, I exit through the patio doors to join them. The girls are taking off their cover-ups, unveiling their bikinis. My first thought is to put Kylie’s cover-up back on, not because I don’t want to see her amazing body but because I don’t want other guys seeing what belongs to me.

I have no idea where this caveman attitude is coming from lately.

Trying to control my possessive streak, I take a couple of deep breaths and head over to the guys sitting on the patio chairs.

“Hey,” I greet, giving them a fist bump.

“Hey,” they reply.

I sit down before peering over at the girls in the pool. They’re trying to get on some inflatables and failing. They keep tipping over and laughing.

When one manages to get on, one of the others tip her over, and I chuckle, finding their antics amusing.

“So… you and Kylie, huh?” Luke asks.

“Yeah,” I say, wondering why he is asking.

“Listen, Leo, I’m going to be honest with you. She dated my friend, James, for a couple of years, so it took me by surprise seeing you two together. Although James is one of my best friends, I didn’t condone the way he treated her. He hurt her and made a fool of her. I’m asking as a friend… if this is not serious, let her know upfront. She doesn’t need someone dicking her around again. She won’t handle lies well… so yeah, just be upfront with her.”
