“Oh, Mom. Leave her alone,” Mom tells Manda and takes my hands in hers. “Now, come into the living room and tell us all about him.”

When we enter the living room, my mother and I take a seat on the sofa. After kicking off my shoes, I pull my legs up underneath me while Manda relaxes in her recliner.

“Leo is here for a couple of months, working at his family’s casino. He just graduated with an MBA, and his father sent him here to learn the ropes.”

“His father’s casino?” they both ask, surprised.

“Leo is Leo Knight. They own Knight Casinos and Resorts.”

“Wow. I’ve been there and taken a turn or two on the slots,” Manda interjects.

“We went there last night for dinner. The restaurant is lovely.”

“What happens after a couple of months and he has to leave?” Manda asks.

Frowning, I hesitate to answer. That isn’t something I’ve really thought about, and I doubt Leo has either.

“I don’t know. We haven’t talked about it. This is still so new. I guess we’ll see what happens.”

I don’t want him to leave. My heart sinks at the thought. I’m falling quickly for him, but now that they’ve asked, I’m curious about what will happen.

“Honey, I can tell you really like him. You have time to figure it out. Just enjoy getting to know him,” Mom encourages me, laying her hand over mine.

“I like him a lot. I think about him all the time. We had some good conversations last night. He really is a great guy.”

“Hmpf. Good conversation, I’ll bet,” Manda quips.

“Mom,” my mother scolds Manda, and I shake my head with a chuckle.

Changing the subject, my mother asks, “Have you seen James since last week?”

“No, and I’m happy about that. Between him and my run-in with Beth last week, they’re the last people I want to see.” I was worried after what happened with James that I wouldn’t be able to be with anyone again. But I want to be around Leo constantly to talk with him, eat with him, and have amazing sex with him.

I smile at that last thought.

“What has you smiling like that, sweetheart?” Mom asks.

I smirk. “You don’t want to know.”

“Great orgasms don’t equal a great relationship,” Manda says.

“But they certainly help.” I give her a wink, stunning her.

“I’m heading to bed.” Standing up, I head toward the stairs. “Goodnight. Love you both.”

“Love you too, sweetheart,” Mom says.

“Love you, Kylie,” Manda replies at the same time.

Halfway up the stairs, I hear Manda whisper to Mom, “I think he may be her one.”

Sliding under the covers, I replay in my head what I overheard Manda whisper to Mom. My attraction to Leo isn’t going away anytime soon. If possible, it will only get stronger. I admit to myself that she may be right.Leo might just be my one. Then again, he may also be the one who shatters my heart to pieces.

ChapterSixteen

Leo

The next couple of weeks pass by quickly with Kylie and I spending every spare moment together. She’s in my bed every night, and I lose myself in her time and again. But it’s not just the sex. I like being around her. She makes me laugh, and I enjoy the times we simply talk. I never thought I would like that or want it with a woman.
