Page 62 of Walker

The boat slows down and I don’t look until we come to a stop. “I’m going to be sick; I need off this boat.”

Darren helps me onto the dock and I run to the grass across from the parking lot. I grip the back of our truck.

“Fuck baby.” Walker gathers my hair into a bun at the back of my head. “Here baby.” Darren wipes my mouth for me with a wet wipe.

“You guys are too good to me,” I cry, emotional from being sick.

“That’s not true, baby,” Darren tells me. “Come on let’s get you home, you need some fluids.”

I sniff, trying to breathe in and out deeply. “Yeah, I just threw up everywhere and you guys saw it.”

Walker laughs. “What the fuck am I going to do with you, baby? We have both been face deep in your pussy, puke doesn’t mean anything.”

“You didn’t just say that,” I moan, opening the back door. “Can I lay down back here?” I ask.

Darren gets in first and helps me in and I lay my head on his leg, super sick. “I think the McDonald’s this morning poisoned me.”

“Walker, let’s go fuck some shit up,” Darren threatens and I laugh, the movement causing my stomach to twist.

“Here’s a water for her.” My mom hands Darren a water and my blanket. “Feel better, baby.”

“I’ll be fine, Mom; I just think sleep is what I need,” I tell her.

The truck starts and we leave without them. “Here baby,” Darren hands me the water, I take a small sip cringing when it goes down.

I had it back to him, closing my eyes. “Rest baby.” Darren rubs my hair over my shoulder, rubbing my scalp soothing me.

“Pull over.” I sit up, putting my hand over my mouth. The second Walker stops, I throw the door open and puke again.

“Let’s take her to the hospital, Walker.”

I shut the door groaning at the cramps in my stomach. I lay back down on Darren's leg, pulling the blanket back up.

“Konrad is a doctor. I’ll have him meet us at the hospital.” I don’t even care at this point.

I try to sleep some. I don’t know how many times I get sick on the way to the hospital.

“There’s Konrad,” Walker says through my haze.

I lift my head and sit up, gripping the seat, feeling dizzy. “Come on, baby.” Walker gently lifts me out of the seat, carrying me inside the hospital.

Darren holds the door open for us. “I already have a bed in the emergency room for her,” Konrad tells us.

I’m laid onto a bed. “Let’s go blow up the McDonald’s that did me this way,” I groan, covering my eyes.

Konrad laughs. “Let me take some labs and get it sent off to make sure everything is okay there.”

“We think she’s pregnant.”

I uncover my eyes as he tells Konrad, “Congratulations, I’m happy for you all. My Etta is pregnant too.”

The urge to puke hits me full force and Darren hands me a small pan. “If you guys want to leave me after all of this grossness, I totally understand,” I joke.

“Shut up.” Walker laughs, kissing the top of my head. “Do you want me to tell you what I think of that again?”

“Nope, I get it,” I joke, groaning when my stomach moves with my laughter.

“Let me take your blood and I’ll get an IV started with fluids, and something for your stomach that’s safe for the baby,” Konrad adds in the last part.
