I don’t think twice. Fuck yeah I’m coming. Hauling my T-shirt over my head, I kick off my shoes, following her into the water.

I gasp as I wade deeper, the cold water momentarily taking my breath away. Rylee looks back at me over her shoulder and laughs when she sees the expression on my face.

“Such a city boy,” she teases.

I catch up to her and pull her against me, sliding my arms under her thighs to her incredible ass. The water is still shallow enough for me to stand. “Killing me in that swimsuit.”

Wrapping her hands around me, Rylee locks her feet behind my back. “Good,” she whispers against my mouth. “That was the plan.” She kisses me and I kiss her back, pushing my tongue past her lips. I can’t stop touching her. Her chest is pressed against mine, her arms tangled around my neck. When I finally manage to pull my mouth from hers, she shivers and turns her face toward the sun.

“You,” I say, squeezing the two globes of her ass in my hands. “You are every one of my fantasies come true.”

And that’s exactly what this feels like. I have the most beautiful girl in the world in my arms. It’s monastery quiet, only the sound of the breeze whispering through the trees breaking the silence. A broad span of turquoise blue sky stretches above us and the lake around us shimmers beneath the sun’s rays. It’s peaceful and still. It’s paradise.

We spend the afternoon at the lake. When we start to get hungry, we towel off and walk up the hill to a tall oak tree. A blanket is spread out underneath it, a picnic basket sitting on it.

“What’s all this?” I ask her as Rylee sits down, twirling her wet hair up into a knot at the nape of her neck.

“It’s lunch,” she says matter-of-factly. “Come sit.”

“When did you have time to do all this?” I ask her, watching her pull two glasses from the basket along with a bottle of sparkling water.

“When you were sleeping like a log this morning.”

“You did all this for me?”

“It’s really nothing. I just wanted to show you what I like to do when I’m back home.” I sit beside her, taking her in. I love seeing this side of Rylee. She’s in her element here on the farm. It’s easy to see how happy this place makes her.

Rylee goes back into the basket, pulling out a Tupperware full of pasta salad and another full of fruit and cheeses. Napkins and cutlery are next.

“This is definitely not nothing, babe. You planned a date for us. You cooked for me. It’s perfect.”

It’s the best date I’ve ever been on.

“I’m happy you think so,” she says with a sexy grin.

I love that grin. I do. I love the way her eyes sparkle when they find mine. I love how she’s open and vulnerable and says what she feels, so I never have to guess. I love the sounds she makes when I’m inside her and the way her body fits mine like we are two pieces of a puzzle. She is so much more than just my girlfriend. She is everything I’ve ever wanted, and I’m starting to realize I will never find another woman that compares to her.

She scoops the pasta onto two plates and hands me one. It looks incredible, and I’m not surprised.

“Did you always want to be an actor?” she asks out of nowhere.

“I didn’t spend my childhood dreaming of it, if that’s what you’re asking.”

“So, how did it all happen then?”

“I fell into acting in high school and sort of just took to it. I was a sophomore and the girl I had a crush on joined drama class, so I joined too. The drama teacher thought I was good and recommended some acting classes outside of school. I started taking the classes at 16 and by 19 I was discovered by an agent who saw one of the casting tapes I had made. She was looking for talent for a teen sitcom and thought I’d be perfect for the leading part. I won the role and the sitcom was a big hit. That turned into a small part in a movie, which turned into another movie and the rest is history.”

“You mean the rest is the beginning of Miles Bennett becoming a star.”

I laugh. “If you say so.”

“Why are you laughing? It’s true. The whole world adores you.”

“I adore you,” I tell her, not able to hold it in any longer. “You’re funny and selfless and one the strongest people I’ve ever met. You’re good for me, Ryls.”

“We’re good together,” she says, looking down at her hands.

I take her hand in mine and kiss her knuckles. Her eyes are back on mine, those emerald eyes rimmed in gold in the sunlight.
