Page 74 of Heart Set on You

I wake up in Deer Lake in a great fucking mood. I’m right where I want to be, with Rylee asleep on my chest, her body snug against my side. I can’t seem to ever get enough of her, the morning wood that I’m sporting right now is proof of that.

It’s mornings like this, when it’s quiet and it’s just us, that I’m going to miss most when she leaves. Normally, we would both have to get up right away to get to work but today we can take our time. I want to wake up this way for the rest of my life.

“Good morning,” Rylee says in a raspy morning voice.

“Mmm… morning,” I say, kissing the top of her head before she turns so that her chin rests on my pec. She looks gorgeous and sleepy, her cheeks rosy and her eyes heavy-lidded.

“How’d you sleep?”

“Great,” I answer, tucking her hair behind her ear. Any excuse to touch her. “We have the entire day together. What should we do?”

“I have plans for us,” she says, smiling against my chest.

“You do?”

“I do,” her eyes drop to my abs while her fingers roam in lazy lines across them.

“Are you going to tell me what they are?” I ask, running my fingers down her arm, watching her skin pebble under my touch.

“Nope.”

“That’s it? Just ‘nope.’”

“That’s it,” she says, as I lift her hand to my mouth and kiss each one of her fingers.

“Does it involve you naked and underneath me? Because if it does, I’m definitely in,” I say, giving her ass a squeeze. She squeals.

“It doesn’t, but I think that might be a great way to end our date.”

“So you’re taking me on a date?”

“I am. As much as I would love to stay here in bed with you all day, I have things to do,” she says, pressing a wet kiss to my chest. “You can take your time. I need an hour or so and then we’ll be ready to go.”

She drops a kiss on the corner of my mouth and then pushes up from the bed. I watch her as she goes. I can’t look away, from the golden glow of her smooth skin to her body, perfectly toned in all the right ways. Her tank has risen up, showing her stomach, which I’m aching to touch; the shape of her hips in her sleep shorts make my mouth water. She disappears from the room and I roll over onto my stomach, smiling into the pillow. I’m dizzy with happiness. Seconds later, I close my eyes and doze off back to sleep.

After breakfast, Rylee tells me it’s time to leave for our date.

“Do I get a hint where we’re going?” I ask. “What should I wear?”

“Just your swim trunks,” she replies with a mischievous grin.

We leave out the back door and walk hand-in-hand through the fields, passing the barn and the apple trees. When we reach the path she finally shares her plans for the day.

“I thought we’d spend the day swimming. The water warms up this time of year, but it will still be really… refreshing.”

“Just how refreshing are we talking about here?”

She scoffs. “Silly me. I forgot for a second I’m dating a city boy. You might not be able to handle it.”

“Is that a dare, Rylee-Jay?” I tease as the lake comes into view up ahead. She narrows her eyes at me. She really does hate that nickname. “Because I’ll have you know, I am famous for never backing down from one.”

“I thought you are famous for your ability to make grown women scream?” she grins.

“Well, that too,” I say.

She’s kicks off her shoes, holding them dangling from one hand. The sun against her airy dress shows a silhouette of what’s underneath. She makes me harder than I think I’ve ever been. She catches me staring and a slow smile spreads across her face like she’s very pleased with herself.

She stops then and peels off her sundress, drops it to the ground and heads towards the lake, flashing me an are-you-coming glance. She’s wearing a white string bikini, my hungry eyes getting my fill of her before she disappears under the water.
