“Up your game then.” She whisper yells, losing her temper. “It’s not hard to seduce a seventeen year old girl.. I don’t know. Get a few drinks in her. Drug her a little bit if you have to.”

This bitch.

“Fine.” She grits out, snatching her purse from the island. “I’m on my way.”

I flex my hands and watch her leave, bouncing my eyes back and forth while I try to think. I forget my snack and head back up to Damon’s room, closing the door behind me to lean back against it.

“Thought you were hungry?”

I pull my brows in, looking over at him on the bed while my wheels start spinning out of control. “She..”

She doesn’t want me around them.

Neither does he.

She warned me away from them.

So did he.

She told me they’d hurt me.

So did he.

She hates them.

So does he..

“What’s going on?” Damon frowns, pulling me in to straddle his lap on the edge of the bed.

“Did you call her?” I rasp, sliding my hands around his neck.

“Who?”

“Katherine.” I explain, rushing the words out. “When I went down for dinner with her. Did you get someone to call her to get her away from me before you and the boys came down?”

He shakes his head no, bouncing his eyes between mine. “Baby, what happened just now?”

“Derek said he was at the bar.” I whisper, thinking out loud.

He glares at that, squeezing my waist in a possessive grip. “Explain.”

“When he came over to us. He said he was having a drink at the bar but he wasn’t. I could see it from where I was sitting. He wasn’t there, Damon.”

“Which means he knew you’d be there.”He finishes for me, growling.

“It’s a little convenient he shows up out of nowhere and Katherine just leaves me there with him without a second thought, almost like that phone call was planned. And the way he looked at me?” I shake my head, laughing lightly because I should have seen it sooner. “He already knew who I was before she told him. Probably before even me and you.”

He locks his jaw, tightening his grip on me when it hits him. “You’re here for him.”

I nod, thinking back to her conversation with him. “She called me his. He threatened her with something, sounded like he was pissed at her. She said something about holding up his end of the deal and told him to up his game. I think she’s gone out to meet him.”

“What else?” He glares, pulling my eyes back when I try to look away. “I know there’s more, punk. Tell me.”

I lick my lips, shrugging. “She told him to seduce me, drug me if he needs to.”

“Fuck.” He snaps, smacking the headboard. “Let’s go.”

“Where?”
