Yes, girl.
Damon laughs quietly and I lift my eyes, raising a brow. “Somethin’ funny, big brother?”
“Nothing.” He laughs lightly, sliding his hands over my bare thighs from his spot between my legs. “Keep going.”
I shrug and do as I’m told, running my free hand through his hair while I hold my book with the other. I read a couple more pages, damn near failing to concentrate on anything but him and his hands on me.
He likes watching me read.
He likes watching me, period.
Not sure what’s so fascinating about me and my mere existence but whatever, I’m not complaining.
Just then, my burner phone buzzes on his nightstand and I blindly reach over to grab it, frowning when he snatches it from my hand and tosses it on the bed behind him.
“No.”
I raise a brow, looking from it to him. “Excuse me?”
“No.” He repeats, dipping his head to kiss my hipbone. “You’re not doing that shit anymore.”
“Is that right?”
“Mhmm.” He nods, nipping the spot with his teeth.
I tip my head back, moaning despite myself. “Damon, I need to work-”
“I said no.” He snaps, louder this time. “I don’t like it, baby.”
“You think you can add baby to soften an order and I’ll magically do as you tell me to?” I glare, shoving his head away because he’s turning me on when I’m mad. “How the fuck else am I supposed to pay for shit and-”
“Shut up, Callie.” He cuts me off, dragging my ass down the bed to lie between my bare thighs. “We have more money than we know what to do with.” He says simply, speaking over my lips. “You can have anything you want. You can get a car, you can go to college, you can buy as much chocolate and weed as you damn well please.” He jokes, tangling his fingers in my hair. “You’ll never want for anything with me, punk. I’ll give you everything.”
I grind my teeth, exhaling an aggravated breath because no, that’s not what’s happening here.
“You listen to me, big brother.” I warn, gripping his jaw to pin his eyes with mine. “You want me to share my feelings and open my heart for you or whatever, fine, I can work with that shit, but I will never take your money like it’s mine. Got it?”
A stupid ass grin spreads across his stupid face and I glare some more, making him laugh.
“What are you laughing at?”
“You remind me so much of my Mom.”
“That’s weird.”
“That’s hot.” He teases, taking my lip ring between his teeth.
“Ew.” I laugh, making him laugh.
I shove his big ass off me and jump up, pulling my shorts back on to go grab a snack from the kitchen. Just when my feet hit the top of the stairs, I hear Katherine’s whispered voice and freeze where I stand, listening.
“Will you calm down?” She hisses, pacing the living room with her phone to her ear. “She is yours.”
My brows snap in the center and I press my back to the wall, poking my head around the corner to watch her.
“What the hell do you expect me to do about it? I can’t stop her from wanting him.” She glares, scrubbing a hand over her face. “Do not threaten me.” She warns, speaking through her teeth. “I got her here. I held up my end of the deal. The rest is on you.”
My brows raise and I quickly feel for my phone, cursing myself when I realize I left it upstairs.
