“Get that and let’s keep going,” he ordered before walking away.

I pressed my lips together and followed his orders. I walked up to the big deer that I hit. Silently, I picked it up and carried it to where the Alpha was.

“Let’s go. We need to get out of here,” he suddenly said while checking our surroundings as if he felt something strange.

My brows furrowed. “You sense something?” I asked and started to look around as well. He did not answer. Instead, he grabbed my left arm, and in just a blur, we ran away. The next thing I knew, we were already in front of the pack house. Then I heard Alpha Lucas’ whistle, and around five pack warriors went out and handled the deer we were able to hunt.

“Where is Darius?” I heard Lucas ask.

“They’re in the interrogation room, Alpha,” a pack warrior answered.

He just nodded before walking inside, not even minding my presence. I gasped and looked at his back. I shook my head and gave out a sigh. My wolf purred again.

‘Hmm, someone’s disappointed that the Alpha didn’t even look at her, huh.’

I rolled my eyes. What a bitch wolf, Cinna. I hissed and just made my way inside the pack. I went to the training room to return the bow and arrow before going to the kitchen. There I saw the busy omegas.

“I heard you went hunting with Alpha Lucas.”

Leila appeared out of nowhere. I immediately creased my forehead.

“Where did you just come from?” I asked, not minding her question. It was her turn to raise a brow at me.

“Avoiding my question…” she stated. I gasped and shook my head.

“I’m not. And yes, I did go with him and the Beta,” I emphasized the last word. I turned my back on her and wore my apron. “We caught a spy,” I even said and went to get the things that I needed for lunch,

“Hmm, I see. I saw Darius bringing a wounded she-wolf,” she said. I didn’t answer. I just kept myself busy in the kitchen.

“Celine, the Alpha said that you should prepare a lot for lunch today since the other warriors will eat here,” Sheena said, interrupting my talk with Leila.

I just smiled at her. I nodded and continued to do what I was doing. Thanks to that, I didn’t need to talk to Leila again. I sensed that she had left already, too, so I kept my attention on the food we were cooking.

We planned to prepare at least five dishes, so we had to double our time and effort. Thanks to that again, I was able to shrug off Leila and my annoying wolf.

When we were done with the dishes, we went to the table so we could prepare them. I immediately left the room when the Alpha entered with the other pack warriors. I didn’t really need to be distracted at that moment. I kept myself busy that afternoon. After all my work in the mansion, I went back to training on the field again.

I was in the middle of making combat moves when I saw Alpha Lucas approaching. My eyes widened. Out of nowhere, I became conscious of my moves. Damn it. I immediately avoided his gaze. I heaved a sigh and tried to focus on my sparring partner.

‘Oh, someone’s distracted, huh?’

“Damn it, Cinna!”

‘Just admit it.’

Fuck!

“Aw!” I groaned when I hit the ground. Shit!

“Hey, it’s the first time you lost, Celine,” I heard another warrior say. I gave out a deep breath and shook my head before standing up.

“Your moves weren’t so smooth,” I almost jumped to my feet when I heard Lucas’ familiar baritone. I immediately turned to him, and my heart violently pounded against my chest when our eyes met.

“Uh, I was just-”

I was cut off when he suddenly held my arm so he could adjust my stance.

“Let’s start with your pose.”
