I snorted. “Tell ya what. I’ll trade shifts this Thursday, as much as I don’t want to. You can see what I’m up against.”
He smiled. “Naw. You can keep your shift. But maybe I’ll come up with a reason to hang around after mine.”
“They don’t even come in until eight. Isn’t that past your bedtime?”
Jace laughed and flipped me off. “It’s ten now.”
“But it’s the weekend. No getting up for a morning shift tomorrow.”
“Jackass.”
I shook my head. “Fine, want a reason to stay? Let’s brainstorm up a selection of books for Women’s History Month on Thursday evening. We’d have to do it next week anyway.”
“Deal.”

“Hey hot stuff,” Tyler purred, leaning on the counter. “Is the room ready for us?”
I swallowed, still not used to his flirting even after more than a month. “Y-yeah. You can head on up.”
His smile was dazzling. “Great. Everybody else should be here in a few minutes.”
“They know the way,” I croaked.
He laughed and knocked on the counter a couple times. “Go ahead and reserve us for that farthest week out?”
“Ok.”
Another grin, then he headed towards the stairs.
The sound of a chair rolling over, then Jace’s familiar scent as he leaned close. “Is that one of them?”
I nodded. “Tyler. He’s the team captain.”
“Holy shit.”
“Did you think I was exaggerating?”
“A bit.”
“Well you might want to tuck your legs under a desk or counter then, cause nineteen more gorgeous alphas are going to be striding through those doors over the next few minutes.”
He nodded, then rolled away. He returned less than a minute later, arms laden with books. He plopped them on the counter. “Let’s discuss the pros and cons of these.”
I nodded, but thoroughly enjoyed the soft whimpers of horny frustration that Jace let out every few minutes as another group of lacrosse players headed past the desk towards the AV study room.
At least I wouldn’t be the only one going home with a raging hard-on that night.
Chapter 3
~March~
“Howdy,” drawled a Texas accent.
I glanced up to see one of the lacrosse players standing at the circulation desk. “Yes? Can I help you?”
He gave me a lopsided grin, blue eyes glittering while soft brown hair fell across his forehead. “I was wonderin’ if I could get a library card. Non-students can get ‘em, right?”
