"Oh?" Mama Bee and Al said at the same time.

I beamed. "Yes."

"I don't see how you love your job. That has to be a headache," Mama Bee voiced.

I chuckled. "Sometimes it can be, but I love it."

Mama Bee folded her legs and smiled. "I remembered when I first started baking. It was like a calling I answered. Since then, I baked, baked, and baked."

"And got on my nerves with different types of pies, cakes, and bread all over my house," Al retorted.

I burst out laughing. He didn't care what he said. Mama Bee only scolded him and continued talking.

"As much as I wanted to open a business that wasn't my home, I didn't. Still, I enjoyed baking. I made some good money off of it, too."

I heard the sadness in her voice and wondered why she no longer did it.

"Why did you stop?"

"I didn't completely, but I slowed down. It got too demanding."

I inclined my head. "Ahh, that's understandable."

Mama Bee had a proud smile on her face as she talked about her boys. "We don't have to work anymore, but we still do. Our boys take such good care of us. As much as I wanted a girl, God saw fit to give me two boys."

"And I'm glad. I'm damned sure wasn't going to put up with your mood swings for a third time during your pregnancy," Mr. Allen retorted, causing me to burst out laughing.

He had been on her head since we got here. They were great together. If two peas were in a pod, it would be them.

A door opened and closed, and then footsteps were heard approaching the living room.

From the looks of the man who stood in the living room, I guess he was Aaron. "I hope I'm not too late. Time got away from me."

Mama Bee waved him off with her lips curled up. "Yeah, yeah. That's what you always say. It's good to see you, baby boy."

Aaron went over to hug his mother and kiss her on the cheek. He then went to his father and A'Mylo and gave them some dap. He turned his attention to me, and I gulped. His eyes were as intense as A'Mylo's.

"And who might this beautiful woman be?" he asked, looking me up and down.

A'Mylo moved closer to me and touched my thigh. "If you want your eyes, brother, I suggest you find something safe to look at. Keep it up and watch what happens to you."

This was my first time seeing A'Mylo possessive like this. Could he always be like this, or was this just for his brother's sake?

"Let the woman speak for herself. What's your name, beautiful?" Aaron asked me.

As I looked from him to A'Mylo, I wasn't sure whether to tell him my name or not.

"It's Leighton."

Aaron smiled, showing pure white teeth. "A beautiful name for a beautiful woman."

A'Mylo stood up. "You got one more time."

Aaron laughed and backed away. "You already know that when I see a beautiful woman, I like to tell them how good they look. I could take it a step further."

"And get your teeth knocked down your throat," A'Mylo warned.

I bowed my head to my chest, not knowing what to do or say in this situation. Aaron only laughed at his brother.
