He waved his hand while shaking his head. "Don't tell her that. She'll want you to take her to get ice cream every day. That's one of the things her mother and I often argue about. I let Nini do anything she wants to do."
I gave him the side eye. "Uh-oh, you have her spoiled."
He dropped his head a bit. "You can say that. I hate seeing the sadness in her eyes."
I can understand that, as I hope to have kids one day, too. I wanted at least two or three. At thirty, I thought I would've been married with a baby by now, but that hadn't yet worked out well in my favor. I could admit it was my own fault, but I was now ready to have a meaningful relationship. Hopefully, A'Mylo and I could make this work between us.
"I can see why you and your baby mama argue a lot. You're a softie."
He cackled. "Oh well. For my baby girl, we'll argue all day. Do you want kids?"
The corners of my mouth lifted. "Oh yeah, I do. One of these days, I hope to have two or three."
"If we make it as a couple, I'll give you all the babies you want." He sent me a wink before he turned his attention back to the road.
We rode the rest of the way in silence. When Mylo pulled into the parking lot of the apartment complex, my heartbeat was rapid in my chest as a wave of nausea hit my stomach. A chill ran up and down my spine as I shuddered.
A'Mylo turned the car off and turned to me. "Damn, are you okay over there? You look pale?"
My eyes widened as I jerked my head in his direction. "No, I'm not. I'm nervous as hell," I admitted.
He reached out and squeezed my hand in his. "Why? They won't bite. I can be honest and say my baby mama might have a little attitude, but that's nothing new. Nini is a sweet girl. She'll love you."
I squeezed his hand back. "This is new to me. I have never been with someone who has a child before."
"It's something you'll have to adjust to, but you'll get there. I'll make sure you do. If Nya gets out of pocket, I'll be there to correct her, but you'll be good."
I waved him off. "Oh no, you don't even have to do all that. I can take care of myself. I'm not here to think the worst of anyone or to think something bad will happen. I'm just nervous, that's all."
"You got this. Let's get out of here. We're already late, but it was for a good reason."
As I thought about what happened at my house, my pussy wanted to get wet again. She needed to calm down. The man knew how to work that monster between his legs.
I blushed. "Yeah, you're right. Okay, I'm ready." I exhaled deeply.
Not even five minutes later, we were at Nya's door. Since he mentioned her name often, it stuck in my mind. He knocked and waited to be let in. As I told him, I wasn't thinking the worst, but I hoped Nya and I could at least get along in the long run.
"Who is it?" a tiny voice called out.
"It's me, Nya."
The locks on the door twisted before the door opened. When she looked at me, her eyes widened before she looked at A'Mylo. I remained silent, unsure of what to do or say.
Nya stood there, staring at us, saying nothing.
"Are you going to let us in?" A'Mylo asked her.
She flinched and pressed her lips together. "My bad. I zoned out." She stepped aside to let us in.
The living room was nicely decorated in a peach theme, featuring peach-colored couches and pictures that hung on the wall, which featured fruit. Nya also had a candle lit on the coffee table with the aroma of peaches.
"Y'all can have a seat. I'll go get?—"
"Daddy!" I heard a squeal before I saw a little girl running toward A'Mylo. She was the spitting image of him.
"My Nini!" He scooped her up in his arms and dropped a kiss on her cheek. "How's Daddy's baby doing?"
She beamed, holding his face. "I'm good, Daddy. How are you?"
