A'Mylo told her how he was doing before he set her back down on the floor.

"I want to introduce you two to someone very important to me. Nya and Ni'Asia, I want you to meet Leighton. Leighton, I want you to meet my baby girl and her mother, Nya." A'Mylo wrapped his arm across my shoulders and pulled me closer to him.

I gave a tight smile. "Nice to meet you both. You have a lovely home."

Ni'Asia stepped in front of me and smiled. "Hi. Nice to meet you." She held out her hand for me to take and shook it.

That was one ice breaker. Now I needed the other ice to break. There was no telling how that one would go. Not that I cared since the child was the only one that mattered. Still, I didn't want Nya to dislike me, since I had done nothing to her.

Nya plastered a smile on her face. "Hey, girl. Nice to meet you. Thank you. I try to change around every few months. I can be indecisive about decorating my space. Would y'all like something to eat or drink? Y'all can have a seat."

Before I could say anything, A'Mylo beat me to it.

"Nah, we're good. I'm here to pick Ni'Asia up. I'm taking them out to eat."

Nya's mouth opened and closed before she pressed her lips together. "Ni, is your room clean?" She turned her attention to her daughter.

"Yes, Mommy. My room is clean, and my bag is packed."

Nya nodded. "Enjoy yourself, okay? If you need me for anything, be sure to call me."

I wasn't sure if Nya were being genuine or not, since I didn't know her, but I could see from her face that she didn't like me being here with A'Mylo. I could be reading too much into it, but her vibe was off. As a woman, I could feel when another woman didn't fuck with me like that. Again, I could be wrong.

"Are you ready to go, Nini?" A'Mylo asked his daughter.

She jumped up and down. "Yes! Yes! Yes! Let me go get my bag." She raced from the living room to get the bag.

As soon as she left, the moment was tense. I was ready to get out of here.

"I'm back!" Ni'Asia screamed, running into the living room with a bag that was bigger than her.

"No running," A'Mylo and Nya instructed at the same time.

She stopped immediately, causing me to smile.

"We're gonna go," A'Mylo said to Nya. "Nini, kiss your mama."

"Nice meeting you," I told Nya.

She gave me a small smile. "Likewise."

Once we made it outside of the apartment, I sighed in relief.

A'Mylo looked over at me. "You good?"

I only nodded. "Where are you taking us to eat?"

He grinned. "My house. I want to cook for the two ladies in my life." He leaned over and kissed my cheek before he connected my hand with his. He had Nini's hand on the other side of him.

In the car on the way to his home, we made small talk. Nini ended up falling asleep in the backseat.

"She's your twin," I noted with a smile.

He smiled brightly. "Yeah, that's my little shorty. I get that a lot. Just wait until you meet my brother and father. You'll think we are quads." He chuckled.

"I can't wait to meet them."

My cell phone vibrated on my lap. I picked it up and saw that I had a notification in the group chat I had with my girls.
