Thanks to a masked Marine.

Oddly, the way his man was smiling, he didn’t think he’d care. Their baby detective was going to be okay, and ultimately, so would they.

Hearing they’d join them, Corbin smiled.

He was back.

“My love?” he asked, holding out his elbow for Will, who didn’t hesitate to put his arm through it. “Let’s get some food.”

As they started walking away, leaving Ethan and Gene to follow in their car, Will was happy for him.

“Looks like you’re going to spend time with them and be safe in the streets. I see that made you want to go back.”

Yeah, it did.

He was holding his award from the president, and he couldn’t be happier.

Alice didn’t have one of them, now did she?

Corbin was finally coming into his own. It only took nearly dying to do it, but now, he was a different man.

“How will you survive the next week as you wait for them to come back?” Will asked.

He grinned.

“Do you have any vacation time left?” he asked, knowing the answer to that.

He nodded.

“Yeah, why?”

Corbin dropped the bomb.

“Want to go toPuerto Rico?” he inquired. “I saw the brochure and tickets on the counter. They’re going to a gay-inclusive resort. We’re gay. They’re gay. We’re all gay,” he said, grinning.

Will began laughing.

“He’s going to kill you. Gene is going to shit a thousand bricks and build a wall.”

He doubted it.

“He said I’m not to ruin their vacation by going back to work. He never said I couldn’t come with themON VACATION. Think of it as a double vacation date, and since he’s so fond of rules, he should know one of mine.”

Will was curious.

“Which is?” he asked.

He told him.

“Never think that the Corby won’t pop up to make sure Mom and Dad can’t get laid on vacation.”

Will laughed.

“Well, if I’m going to go down for being complicit in this crime, it’s best to do it on an island with a drink in my hand, and my handsome guy by my side.”

Corbin winked at him.

Already, he felt better.
