“Isabella, I’m not pregnant.” I frowned in confusion.

“No ma’am. Ain’t no babies over here,” I insisted, but she just looked at me and smiled.

“It is. You just don’t know yet.”

“Can I ask you how you came to this conclusion?” I asked her because I was genuinely confused how she came to that conclusion when I didn’t show any signs of pregnancy.

“For one, you’re glowing. And although you were already thick in the hips, they’ve spread. I’m surprised your mother hadn’t said anything.”

“Ooh, I’m going to be an auntie!” Jaylen yelled.

“Who auntie you about to be?” Demetric came swaggering into the kitchen.

“I thought I told you to not to come back in here?” Isabella fussed.

“Ma, I’m about to pass out. I know it’s something in here for me to eat.” He looked at me and smirked. I couldn’t hide the redness of my cheeks if I wanted to.

“That right there is the other reason. Meechie has always had an appetite, but it’s skyrocketed,” she explained.

“Ma, what you in here talking about?” He asked.

“Oh nothing. Just the fact that I’m about to be an abuela,” she smirked.

“A what?” he damn near shrieked. “Jay, I know you ain’t went and got pregnant? I didn’t even know you were fuckin’.”

“I swear you’re so stupid. How am I going to be an auntie and be pregnant, dummy?” she cocked her head to the side. The moment it registered; his eyes shot to me.

“Daizha, you pregnant?” he asked.

“No. I don’t know what Ma Izzy is talking about,” I clarified.

“Ma, you trippin’. You had me in here about to pass out. I probably still will because I’m starving.”

“Boy, go wash up and tell Zeus and Kevon to do the same.” He led me upstairs to his room and as soon as he closed the door, he honed in on me.

“What my mama talking about?”

“I have no idea. She mentioned that I was glowing, and my hips were spreading.”

“Shit, that don’t mean you’re pregnant. That just means yo’ nigga keeping you happy and full of dick.” He smirked.

“That’s what I told her…well not the full of dick part.”

“You think you are, though?” he asked.

“I doubt it. I just had a period, remember.” He looked as if he was trying to remember.

“Aight, cool. Don’t let Ma Izzy scare you. She’s been talking about babies since I was eighteen. Her reasoning is that she doesn’t want to be an old grandma. She’ll be alright though. Now come on so we can eat before I pass out.” Laughing, I followed him into the bathroom to wash my hands and head back downstairs. When we got there, everyone was sitting in the dining area.

“Meech, I need to have a talk with you,” Zeus said.

“No, you don’t. Ma, trippin’.”

“How do you know that’s what I’m talkin’ about?” Zeus asked with a smirk on his face.

“Because I know your wife. We’re good,” he insisted. Zeus put his hands up in mock surrender. I was glad the conversation switched to something else because I didn’t like being in the hot seat like that.

We stayed at his parent’s house for a few hours and by the time we did go home; I was dead tired.
