Drix made one move and threw Breaker off his back.

“Come on, kid!” Priest bellowed. “Knock him out!”

Drix threw a right hook that hit Breaker’s jaw so hard, the sound of the bone snapping echoed loudly over the cheers. Breaker spun on his right foot and fell face first down to the pavement. His face bounced once and that was it.

Drix turned and looked for Priest and pointed. Priest pointed back. Then came Drix’s prize.

Thedeeceethat Breaker had smacked around stepped into the circle and by the time Drix realized she was there, her shirt and bra were long gone. Once close enough, she grabbed for Drix’s head and pulled his face down to her ample chest, burying theprospectsface in her tits.

“Now that’s a prize,” Priest said. “And, yes, you did show up here for violence, doll. If you wanted societal justice you would have went to the police. You skipped that for a reason. You want a different kind of justice. So don’t fucking stand here and lie to me and lie to yourself. You wanted to step into hell. Now you’re here.”

“And I said I wanted to leave,” Eden said. “I said I regretted my decision.”

“Too fucking bad.”

“I don’t have to tell you anything, Priest. You don’t think people know where I was going and why? You don’t think someone will come looking for me?”

“Okay then. The whiskey has loosened those lips of yours, doll.” He leaned down closer to her. “What about the other lips?”

Eden shuddered.

Priest winked. “I think we both know whatever is going on in your life, you being right here next to me is the safest place. Don’t fucking try to deny it. And whether you like it or not, if I didn’t want you here, you’d be gone. And not back in your car either, doll. Theprospectswould be rolling your body up in a sheet and finding somewhere to bury you.”

He felt Eden shiver and start to pull away. But where was she going to go? She was in a sea of outlaw bikers. Some of the guys were just street riders. Friends of the club—the ones who rode a little more casually and rode for sound and appearance. Others, like the guys inSOFRAW, they were the true outlaws. The real bad guys if you thought of their life in that way.

Which Eden obviously did. Priest knew it. He smelled it on her. Worst case, if he was wrong in the situation, there would only be one other reason Eden offered her presence. And that was for Priest’s cock. His cock brought in women from hundreds of miles away.

Either way, Priest made damn sure that he would not let Eden slip out of his grasp.

“You can let me go now,” Eden said to him. “I’m not going to run off.”

“Can’t do that, doll. If I even look the other way, you’ll have a dozen drunk, horny bikers sliding up against that nice ass of yours. And someone will eventually make their claim. Last thing you want to do is wake up tomorrow with a tattoo.”

“Why would that matter?”

“Tattoo means you’re outlaw property. Ink is more important than marriage around here.”

“Does your wife have a tattoo?” Eden asked.

Priest picked up a little boozed up boldness from the beautiful nurse. He liked it.

“You look like you could use another shot of whiskey, doll,” he whispered into her ear.

Eden swallowed hard and look at Priest once more.

“Better make it the entire fucking bottle, outlaw.”

Chapter Six

The Voyeur Variable

So far he’s been covered in blood, scared me, threatened to break my hands, caught me when I started to pass out a little, held me against him as a way to protect me from other bikers, and has demanded I spend the night.

Eden only managed another sip or two of the whiskey. Her lips, tongue, throat, and stomach burned like she had swallowed fire.

In her mind she replayed her entire night as if she hadn’t shown up to the outlaw bikers’ clubhouse. She had that awful sense of crushing reality the moment she saw Priest and that blood all over him. Like a cloak had been pulled away, revealing the truth. Her silly mind playing tricks on her, leaving her to believe that she could just show up and Priest would be thoughtful and caring and help her.

“They’re going to keep fighting for a while, doll,” Priest said, breaking up Eden’s thoughts. “Slade will start collecting money. Got to pay the bills around here somehow, right?”
