Eden didn’t respond.
“Normally I’d be in there. I’m a cash king for the club when it comes to fights. I never lose. Tempting to get out there. What do you think, nurse?”
“Go for it,” Eden said. “Go get punched in the head, even just once, and watch what happens. You think a coma was bad? Try permanent brain damage.”
“A lot of the guys around here already think I have that.”
“Wow. Such a funny thing to say. You want to end up unable to ride your motorcycle?”
Priest chuckled.
Eden curled her lip. “What’s so funny about that?”
“The way you said it. So proper. So innocent. You don’t know the first fucking thing about this life.”
“Of course I don’t. I’m a nurse. You know what, Priest? This is kidnapping. You’re holding me against my will.”
“Call the police then. Call for help. Watch what happens if a fucking cop shows up here.”
Chills attacked Eden once more. There was no escape.
Or maybe Eden didn’t actually want to escape.
She thought about her apartment. There was a chance that Cody would be lingering around. Waiting to mess with her. Waiting to attack her.
“You keep fading out like that, doll,” Priest said. “You think I don’t know what’s on your mind?”
“I think I’ve had too much to drink,” Eden lied. “And I don’t want to watch anymore violence.” That statement was at least true.
“I’ve had my fill too, doll. If I’m not going to get in there and get fucked up and bloody, why bother watching? Let’s go.”
Priest turned and took Eden with him. His grip was something fierce. Not even trying to grab or hold her and he had strength she never knew someone could possess. He tossed her around like she weighed nothing, and it wasn’t him wanting to do so. His right hand held her hip, thumb at the small of her back, fingers around the front of her leg. Touching and pushing at spots that made her tingle in other spots. A natural kind ofreaction, maybe. One she would have preferred to not feel, but the whiskey and anxiety and a whole bunch of other emotions made it next to impossible to sort everything out.
Plus, there was no denying that someone as big and strong as Priest offering up a sense of protection wasn’t sexy. Eden couldn’t help but think of Priest destroying Cody.
But what does that mean?
What have I done?
What will Priest do to Cody, if anything at all?
These guys aren’t really the type to just scare someone… are they?
Oh… fuck…
Priest took Eden into the sacred clubhouse. The only reason Eden knew the place was sacred was because of Liv and her obsession with the shows she watched.
Inside the clubhouse it was the same as the outside. Bikers, booze, and boobs everywhere. From behind the bar, Maggie climbed up and over the bar and ran at Priest. To Eden she was short, pretty, and had perky boobs that bounced inside her tightSOFRAWcut-off T-shirt. She jumped into Priest’s arms.
Suddenly, Eden felt forgotten. She looked to her right at the clubhouse door, wondering if she had an opening to—
Priest’s right hand grabbed the back of her jeans and he gave a hard tug. Eden’s entire body jerked and she felt her panties cut between her ass cheeks.
A blood covered outlaw just gave me a wedgie…
“Maggie, I want you to meet someone,” Priest said. “This is the nurse that kept me alive.”
Maggie wiggled out of Priest’s grasp and threw her arms around Eden’s neck. It was unexpected and Eden just stood there frozen.
