My dad linked, “Hanson’s speech?” I said, “We will have security on the twins, Lexi, and Reagan until this is resolved.” My dad questioned, “It’s not resolved? The man is dead.” I quickly recapped it for him, “There is so much more to this. Essentially, he said once you’re wanted, you’re permanently marked by the Ring. I won’t take chances, not with their lives.” My dad agreed, “Of course not.”

Cameron wrapped Lexi in a hug thanking her for asking about Reagan and getting them answers too. My brother and I shared a look. We’d secretly worried our mates wouldn’t get along. I was really glad that wasn’t the case. My dad pleaded with us to keep secrets.

I linked him, “They had the camera’s up, dad.” He retorted, “Maybe they left the safe room then. They know it's all clear.” I snorted, ‘“That won’t help you with our hearing.” I was right. He grabbed the twins back and ran over to his mate.

He pleaded his case, “Nadine, I was thrown through a portal. I couldn’t turn down tea with the Hackura Queen. That’s suicidal and her tea is amazing.” Nadine swatted him, “Give me my grandson you stubborn, obnoxious, having good points when I’m mad at you man.” I chuckled before turning back to the larger group.

Matt linked me, “Too bad Hanson didn’t have a super tough steak one day and die in his stupid remote cabin when Haley wasn’t around.” I nudged him admitting, “That would’ve been pretty funny.” Matt smirked agreeing, “It would’ve.” He was holding Ted’s hand as they came over to join our group.

All the wolves tensed when Aiden pondered why demons weren’t around to take his sister. I was getting ready to shift when Alpha Jackson spoke. We all whirled to see him, and Molly covered in scratches. Jenna rushed to her sister while Eric went to his brother. Ted was back in seconds with some clothes for Molly to put on. He stood in front of her with Jenna to make a wall.

Molly said, “Thanks, TeleTed. Nudity doesn’t bother us, but my mate gets super testy about people seeing me naked. Haley says it’s sexist.” Maybe, but I was on Alpha Jackson’s side. Ted smiled, “BAGG unite! I got your back, girlfriend. Plus, you’re officially my sister now.” Molly kissed his cheek.

Prince Marcus came up behind them. Where Alpha Jackson and Molly were covered in scratches, he barely had one. He was, however, covered in demon blood. I never wanted to face a Hackura in opposition. They were killing machines. I’d give them one hell of a fight though.

Eric was pissed while Alpha Jackson stared at him incredulously. I linked Cameron, “For future reference if you are trying not to die you link me to help with that goal. Got it?” Cameron retorted, “Same goes for you, big brother.” I agreed, “Deal.”

Ted and Lexi were coming up with some plan to pose as Demons. Moon Goddess, please no. Before I could join Matt in voicing those thoughts, I heard a shot. I was on my way to Lexi when Derrick hit her, and I was hit from behind. In two different directions. I saw Eric get tackled too.

More guards had appeared and were on Haley, Titus, Bjourn, Marcus, and Alexander. Jenna ordered, “Oscar, pop away to the safe house! Stay there!” Oscar popped away. Matt linked me, “There is no fucking way he went to the damn safe house.” I agreed, “Odds are heavily against that. Link him to not do what I think he’s doing.” Matt growled, “He replied with an evasion. Motherfucker!” Awesome.

Garrett growled, “Sharon, don’t!” She popped away from him. Fairies. More shots rang out. Bolt snarled, “You tell mate to stay down! She keeps trying to get up.” I agreed with him. Sharon popped back with Oscar and the shooter.

Jenna was upset meanwhile Oscar was nonplussed. Beta Dylan made comments that had me acting. I linked Jenna, “No one will take Oscar, I’ve got this.” She growled, “He needs to back off my man.” I reminded her, “He’s straight and mated. It’s ok.

Beta Dylan decided a sibling of Oscar’s would do if he had one. Alpha Lucas begrudgingly agreed to give him a day to help in the search. Matt linked me, “Commence an epic Beta group chat take two.” I complained, “You never gave me enough details about take one.” Eric growled at his guard, Dawson. Matt linked me, “NO WAY! Dawson is a legendary guard. He’s one of the few I’ve heard of. He’s friends with Prince Bjourn.” I sighed, “Of course he is.”

I linked Eric, “I was tackled too and by two people no less.” Eric retorted, “My other guard is here too.” I was surprised, “You have two of them?” Eric growled, “Yes.” It turned out that Tate was the second person that tackled me was. Ted pushed off the ground from under Matt to check on his brother. He was fine and amused I was glaring at him.

Heath was standing with Zeke who nodded to me. The guys were talking. I linked Matt, “You did NOT just tell Beta Dylan that he thinks he’s funny. Even I know that’s a bad idea.” Matt argued, “That’s not what I meant!” Beta Dylan started typing rapid fire on his phone.

I linked Alpha Lucas, “What is he doing?” Alpha Lucas answered, “Probably sending out a mass Memo to call Beta Matt from the Yellow Hills Pack Beta Mattie from now on.” I questioned, “Would he really….? Never mind he would do that.” Seconds later several Beta’s phones dinged around us. Beta McAlister started laughing and showed his phone to Alpha Kyle who tried to cover his laugh with a cough. He’d gone further than I thought including everyone from the last summit.

Derrick linked me, “Never let me say he’s not funny.” I replied, “I’ve got your back if you’ve got mine.” Lexi made a statement that had all laughter evaporating. We weren’t having sex for a year. Excuse me? She thinks she can just walk away looking and sounding like that? She teased me, using my words against me. That naughty little minx! I looked her up and down. The PLANS I had for that outfit.

I reached her eyes, and they were just as lust filled as mine. I linked Nadine, “Can you guys take the twins tonight?” Nadine said, “I’ll put them in their room. If Lexi needs someone with them, I can move them to our room. Ours might be too far from her for now.” I replied, “Thanks.” Nadine told me, “No problem.”

I was annoyed my plans would have to wait because I had a stupid demon to interrogate. Bolt huffed, “He can sit on ice.” Agreed. Lexi thought only Eric needed information. Technically as my ally I would need the information, but I didn’t need it tonight.

Hanson was lucky he killed himself. I had plans. So did just about every male here, and some of the women too. The man really did himself a favor he didn’t deserve. Beta Dylan drew my attention back to thinking he’d lost his mind. I linked Matt, “Like Eric needed a reminder that his son and mate are unconscious.”

Matt was fuming, “Maybe Alpha Eric will punch him in the face for me.” I said, “You can always get him back.” Matt scoffed, “And start a war with Beta Dylan? No, I’ll have to be subtle with my revenge.” I pointed out, “We have time.” Matt smiled agreeing, “So we do. At least Oscar is good for something. I now have centuries to plot revenge.” I teased, “He makes your sister happy too.” Matt sighed, “Fine, Oscar is good for more than one thing.”

Lexi mentioned Beta McAlister being in Faerie on New Year’s Eve. I linked Matt, “Why was Beta McAlister in Faerie on New Year’s?” Matt grumbled, “Because Beta Dylan, Beta James, and Beta Caleb were talking about the Cassandra showdown with BA. Beta McAlister told them to send Sharon back to bring him to the party. No one would come get me because at the time we didn’t have a fairy.”

He lamented, “Beta Dylan was pissed I was keeping secrets. Which were YOUR SECRETS. So, I missed the fight. Beta McAlister got popped in by Sharon in time and saw the whole thing go down. He even heard Alpha Eric Alpha command Cassandra and send her home. All because Oscar didn’t pop his happy ass to my sister sooner. I am the ONLY Beta in the area who missed it.”

I apologized, “I’m sorry.” Matt shrugged, “I’ll keep all your secrets.” I asked, “Was Beta McAlister entertained?” Matt said, “He saw Queen Cassandra get taken down several pegs. They were ALL loving it. Except Beta Caleb. He had to swallow a sour pill. He was not super happy with the group for keeping secrets from him, or what was likely to be the aftermath of said outburst.” I nodded, “Fair enough.” Matt added, “Esther was upset he didn’t bring her though, but she was locked in some card game. So, he got out of it quickly knowing she hates her games being interrupted.”

Eric linked me, “We are taking the Demon to the Hackura realm for answers. Veronica, Torvi, and Astrid are going to watch over the triplets and Haley.” I said, “Your other pups didn’t pop in.” Eric explained, “They will as soon as we are in the Hackura realm. They are like that, and Thor has communicated with their wolves. He told them not to come here after Alexander popped in.”

I admitted, “I don’t envy that problem. Communicating with their wolves already is helpful though.” Eric retorted, “Lucas, Tucker, and my pups will be able to pop into or out of danger. Yours will do so by running really damn fast. I’ll take their popping and antics now and train them as they grow.” He made a fair point.

Lexi’s Aunt Lizzy’s family reunion turned into a race between Uncle Jordan and Heath. Which Heath won. Jordan seemed very surprised by that fact. The cousins were beside themselves. I was fairly certain Jasper was serious about never forgiving the other adults for this.

After a half hour they split up to head to Heath’s Shroud. Lexi and Heath talked for a moment. I nodded to Heath before he flashed away letting him know we’d come to the Shroud combination deal. As soon as he left, I took her to our room.

I assured Lexi the twins were fine and took a second to make sure she was ok with it. Then I pounced on her. I whispered, “You’re a sexy blonde.” She giggled, “Oh yeah?” I nuzzled her neck, “You’re so damn sexy.” I ripped the bodice off her outfit. I attacked her nipples with vigor. She moaned and grasped my hair and pulled.
