After a minute he told me, “Our warriors are mixed in with yours. Rick sent five of them to the doctor’s office. I’ll have their heads for this.” I rolled my eyes replying, “You were going kill them anyway after he mention her being kidnapped from her office.” Cameron growled, “They could’ve hurt her. They want her in this disgusting ring with your mate and my niece. They all die. Tonight.” I assured him, “You’ll get no argument from me brother.”

Hanson startled us all when he said the partials were ignored by most supernatural groups until Haley proved the partial Fae’s were powerful. Most supernatural’s except wolves didn’t protect those others that were partials. They had some Alpha’s in their ring though.

I linked Eric, “It won’t just be Hammond.” Eric replied, “In this fucking area, it would’ve just been Hammond. What kind of sick Alpha hands over their pack members to this shit? Who cares if they are partial werewolves or wolf less? That’s disgusting! Our JOB is to protect them, and these fuckers are handing them over to these assholes?” I said, “I know.” He was right.

As an Alpha I was to stand and protect my pack, all of them. No matter who they were. That was my job. I was the law here, and I was their protector until my final breath. Lexi laughed tapped her thigh and Haley popped beside her. Little did he know those two weren’t the only ones here. We were all here ready and waiting too.

Eric’s hands clenched. Matt said, “You two are more alike than you think.” I looked down. My knuckles were white my hands were clenched so hard. I didn’t even realize I’d was doing it. Haley taunted Hanson and he gave it right back.

I linked Eric, “Tapes?” The Hackura’s eyes blazed gold. Several more faded in. Matt linked, “Oh fuck balls.” I recognized Javi and Blade as members of Haley’s guard that I’d met. Eric didn’t answer me. He shifted into his wolf. Alpha Jackson and Molly followed suit.

I linked Matt, “We might as well shift too.” The rest of the wolves in our group shifted. Cameron came to stand beside me. This was our first battle as a joint pack. I nodded to him, and he nodded back. When Hanson said he’d have Lexi, Haley, AND Emma it started to rain. I couldn’t deny I was surprised.

I linked Eric, “Why did she make it rain?” Eric replied, “Because the anger in all her connections brought her powers up.” I asked, “Yours?” Eric answered, “Mine, her brothers, and her dad.” Oh yeah, her dad was here.

I wasn’t concerned over the order to fire at our pack house. No one was there. This wasn’t our new pack house. Nadine linked me, “We have a lot of guns in the safe room all of the sudden.” I chuckled, “Fairy hijinks. What can you do?” Nadine answered full of relief, “Not a damn thing.”

Hanson threatened Haley’s life and I heard the angriest yell I’d ever heard. King Titus was making his presence known. I linked Eric, “Who called her dad about this?” Eric answered, “Marcus.” Cameron linked me, “If I was her, I’d call him and say ‘Daddy help’ all the damn time. He’s terrifying. I’d surrender from the sound of that tone alone. No fighting, just an angry Hackura King’s voice. It’s very effective.”

I snorted, “Alpha up.” Cameron said, “You say that because he’s on our side. The only way I wouldn’t back down was if it was about our family.” Cameron had a point; his tone was terrifying. I linked Eric, “He’s still upset about that whole her childhood being abusive I take it.” Eric replied, “I’m fucking pissed about it too. I try to keep in the know of other supernatural groups and among wolves. Of ALL the damn groups to pull the GODDAMN wool over ALL our eyes it was the fucking faeries. They kept the biggest fucking secret of them all.” It was odd given their reputation.

He growled, “I will NEVER get over not knowing how she was suffering. I would’ve declared war and let their actions be known. She’d have been with her Hackura family in a heartbeat because they would’ve heard why I declared war. They would’ve joined the fight with me, and she would’ve been safe.” I told him, “That’s not your fault. You can’t know everything.” Eric didn’t answer me. Great. So much blame to go around in this situation.

I linked Cameron, “We will eradicate this one day; somehow. We will do it.” Cameron nodded “We will brother.” A warlock stepped forward to take on King Titus. Alone. Cameron linked me, “Is he insane?” I pointed out, “Anyone following Hanson can’t be right in the head.” Cameron said, “Yeah, but to take on the Hackura King at all, let alone by yourself? Come on, that's just crazy talk.”

King Titus quickly killed the warlock. He must have yelled for an attack because the Hackura and Hood were moving. It shouldn’t surprise me Heath knew the Latin word for Attack. Lexi did too. Haley popped out her out. I quickly realized where she was when arrows began to rain down. Jordan was climbing a tree and getting ready to fire with her.

I linked the pack, “PROTECT OUR HOME! PROTECT YOUR FAMILIES! FOR OUR LUNA!” Howls rang out. We launched out from the tree line. I was making tracks towards Hanson, but we were cut off by warlocks. Isaac joined Matt, Derrick, and I. Jenna and Oscar were fighting together too. He was throwing fire at anything that went by him. Fairies were quite handy in a battle. I ripped two warlocks to pieces when I heard Matt whine behind me.

I whirled realizing Isaac and Matt were hit with a spell. I snarled at the warlock who turned to me grinning. Hanson was arguing with people. Hanson said, “I have so many plans! They will be surprised when I leave here with the Princess, Lexi, and Emma! THEY ARE MINE!” My pack snarled and Alpha Eric let loose a roar.

A gun shot came out of nowhere. It hit the warlock who’d cast a spell on Matt dead in the eyes. Ted took offense to his mate being hurt. I couldn’t even blame him for that. Matt jumped up growling. I linked him, “We will get to him.”

Lexi beat us though by flashing to him. I told Matt, “Now they really won’t get him.” Our group took off. We were taking down warlock after warlock. I linked Matt, “Did you take Ted to a gun range? When did he become Annie Oakley?” Matt answered, “Apparently my dad has been taking him.” I asked, “Your mate really doesn’t sleep, does he?” Matt grumbled, “Evidently not.”

Haley thew the warlocks into us. Matt and I tore them apart. He dragged one off into the woods. Matt was going to play with his dinner, I guess. I linked Isaac, “Go with him.” Isaac nodded and took off after Matt. I stopped dead when I heard a pup cry, my eyes flashing to a frozen Lexi. My heart stopped. Whose pup was that? Why were they in our house? Had I forgotten my own pup’s cry?

I screamed in my head, “EMMA! DADDY IS COMING!” I linked Bolt, “RUN FASTER THAN YOU EVER HAVE! THAT’S OUR PUP!” Bolt didn’t need more encouragement. We had hit the front door when we heard Lexi scream. I shifted and made it to our room at a record pace.

I couldn’t look anywhere but at the empty bassinets. Tears clouded my eyes. Where were my pups? I failed. I failed them all. Lexi and our pups. Haley explained they were safe, in the Hackura realm with my dad. Air filled my lungs again. My dad was going to get such shit for this. Haley popped Lexi and I back outside.

I shifted. Cameron linked me, “Dad? The twins?” I answered, “They are in the damn Hackura realm. Could he link me and to say those words? Of fucking course not.” Cameron cautiously replied, “I’m sure he has a reason.” I said, “Yeah well maybe one day when the fear of failure is gone and the sight of their empty bassinets doesn’t shoot my heartbeat through the roof, I’ll listen to said reason.” Cameron’s wolf winced.

I shifted back realizing it was over. Someone snapped me into clothes again. Hanson taunted Lexi. I linked Matt, “Excuse me? Once someone was wanted by the ring they were always wanted? I’m going to eviscerate him.” Matt replied, “He could be lying.” I doubted it.

He claimed all our daughters would be in danger. King Titus rammed a knife into his thigh as I rammed a knife into his back paralyzing him. For once, we were all cheering for Beta Dylan to wind up Thor. Threaten my daughter? My allies' future pups? My own Luna? I don’t think so.

Seemingly from nowhere the sound of Hanson cracking his tooth filled the air. I went to open his mouth when Haley Conners was flung away from him. I watched Hanson in shock. He whispered, “No! It should’ve…. I should be free.” He locked eyes with me, “Don’t…. let….me... die. I can help…. you...demons…. should’ve…. known…” He took his last breath.

King Titus and I locked eyes before he turned to Haley. I’d missed King Aiden popping in. Haley was unconscious. Seriously? Why were they so willing to sell their souls to demons and apparently goblins? The very term sounds bad in and of itself. Selling one’s soul.

I linked Alpha Lucas, “That’s one hell of a spell if she didn’t wake up after being healed by their pup.” Alpha Lucas replied, “Let’s hope no one else tries to use it.” I linked Alpha Kyle, “Are we going to war with the demons and goblins?” Alpha Kyle replied, “It certainly seems like we might be. It’s too much to ask that you young guys let a man retire without a war every year I guess.” Bolt chuckled in my head.

Aiden immediately said that wasn’t necessary. He missed our collected sigh of relief. I hated demons, but they could shimmer away. We could take them, but I’d rather just avoid them. Goblins, I didn’t know anything about. We need Katie back though to see if she could help with the magic on Haley.

Seconds later a portal opened and Logan, Katie, my kids, and dad stepped through. Lexi and I ran to them. I linked my dad, “ARE YOU SERIOUS? I WAS WORRIED SICK!” My dad explained, “I tried to link you, it didn’t work. I was THROWN through a portal by a King into the arms of the Queen. We had tea. I’m not certain what is happening in life anymore. Thrown through portals with my grandpups. I mean how was I supposed to see that coming?”

I took Emma from him as Lexi took Emmett. I hugged her. I whispered, “Daddy was so scared for you Princess.” I kissed Emmett's head. Lexi assured them she wasn’t listening to Hanson, but I was. I was going to be vigilant. Nothing was going to take my family.
