Alpha Boudreaux stood up and growled at her, “Get us food, girl!” I stood and growled back. He looked at me and that cost him. Kincade ran into the room snarling as Carry flipped Alpha Boudreaux on his back in one swift move. She cut off the air supply by placing her elbow on his windpipe. I pinned a glare at the other two, in warning that they’d best stay in their seats.

She said, “Don’t you growl at me and order me around! You’re the one who’s wrong and who is being rude here. My daddy taught me to never take shit from anyone who didn’t deserve my respect regardless of their rank. You will NOT order me around like that. I’m not the kitchen staff, and I’ve already told them NOT to serve you. You want to go home and treat your pack like shit then you do that, but you won’t act like that here. I know ALL about you and your packs. My brother is the lead warrior of Alpha Eric Conners pack. Which makes him the Lead of ALL the warriors there under four Alpha’s. Next time you want to growl and try to intimidate a woman, consider where you are. We don’t hold women back here. You are NOT my Alpha and I do not follow your orders.” She got off him in a flash.

My dad linked me, “I’m calling her dad later. He will be so damn proud.” Alpha Boudreaux got up coughing. He looked at me, “PUNISH HER!” Kincade growled. I scoffed, “Excuse me? For what?” Alpha Boudreaux sputtered at me, “Disrespect! She disrespected her Alpha!” I growled, “I am her Alpha, and she did nothing to disrespect me. You treated her as if she was nothing but a servant. No one here is treated that way by those in charge.”

I explained, “We have Omega’s, but they are considered staff. They get to choose what they want to do. They can get a job here with us, where we pay them, or they can look in the area for jobs. Carry did nothing wrong. Before you continue talking yourself into a challenge by her mate; allow me to introduce you to my lead warrior, Kincade Farmer.” Kincade snarled at him.

Alpha Boudreaux said, “Teach your mate some manners, Lead Warrior Kincade.” Carry started forward, but Kincade grabbed her. I vaulted over my desk and punched Alpha Boudreaux in the face. I growled, “YOU do NOT run my pack. You do NOT tell my members how to be in a relationship with their mates. Carry, as I have already stated, did nothing wrong. You are out of line, VERY far outside your territory, and VERY far from any of your allies. Watch yourself.”

I turned to Carry, “I’m sorry about his behavior, Carry. Thank you for bringing us lunch. You didn’t have to do that.” Carry said, “I’m in charge of the wedding details. I didn’t think that you’d want anyone on the catering staff from Sally’s company to interrupt your meeting.” I smiled and nodded in agreement, “You were right. Thank you. You can get back to coordinating.” She glared at the three Alpha’s before turning to leave. She left with Kevin hot on her heels.

Kincade closed the door behind her and glared at Alpha Boudreaux. He was glaring back until he broke the stare down to look at me. Kincade smirked. My dad linked me, “They are pathetic excuses of Alpha’s.” That they were.

I spoke out loud, “If the three of you plan to insult anyone else in my pack; I’d advise you not to. We train our pups from a young age here. That includes women. Carry is from Alpha Eric’s pack. They start training younger than we do. You should be aware that Carry’s family has won the lead male warrior tournament in the Conners family for about sixty years in a row. It’s literally in their blood at this point. Carry is no exception, and I hope she plans to compete in our first female lead warrior tournament.”

All three Alpha gasped as if I had just announced zombies were attacking. Alpha Roberts sputtered, “You cannot mean to host a female lead warrior tournament!” I questioned, “Do you or your Beta’s do research before traveling? Or do you make all your Beta’s miserable, so they do a shitty job? The man you want to speak to about an alliance JUST had the first female warrior tournament in his pack, a movement he spearheaded himself.”

All three men looked uncomfortable. They simultaneously said, “It’s a disgrace. That’s not a she wolf’s place.” I argued, “That’s not the disgrace here. Get your head in the right fucking century. She wolves aren’t for cooking, cleaning, and pups. It's both disgusting and offensive that you’d even imply it.”

I pointed out, “You just got taken down by a woman, Alpha Boudreaux. You couldn’t even make a move on her. She’s well trained and I don’t care that she’s a female and not male. What she did was impressive. Against an Alpha no less. She compliments her mate and my pack very well. I would be honored if she was our first female lead warrior. She’s an amazing fighter and tracker either way. Her gender doesn’t change that fact. We do not handle our packs the same way, but you don’t see me driving down there to kick your backwoods in the past asses. You dare come up here and tell me how to handle my pack?”

Alpha Boudreaux responded, “Our ways are our ways. You and your generation think you can just change things!” I spat back, “I repeat, take it up with the Moon Goddess. Alpha Eric kicked off this initiative and it was WAY past time for this change. For god’s sake, fairies have females as Queens, and they always have. It was sad when King Aiden pointed it out.”

Alpha Sail said, “Alpha Eric did that for his Fairy Princess. We can talk to him.” I chuckled, “I wish you would.” Alpha Boudreaux crossed his arms, “I demand that girl come back and apologize to me.” Kincade growled at him. I said, “I don’t know what I have to say to convince you that you DO NOT make demands here. You will not get near Carry, and she will not apologize for anything. She did nothing wrong.”

Kincade said, “If this event weren’t extremely important to my mate, I’d have challenged you twenty minutes ago.” Alpha Boudreaux retorted, “I’m an Alpha, son. You would lose.” Kincade responded, “I’m not your damn son, and I am a lead warrior for a reason. I have Alpha blood too. Disrespect my mate again, and I WILL challenge you. My men’s cheers will ring in your ears after I kick your ass.”

Alpha Boudreaux shouted, “That’s it. I challenge Lead Warrior Kincade to a fight.” Kincade smirked. I linked him, “You intended for him to challenge you, didn’t you?” Kincade slyly replied, “Who me?” I snorted.

I linked Derrick, “Get the gym ready for a challenge.” Derrick shouted, “YOU CHALLENGED THEM?” I answered, “Alpha Boudreaux challenged Kincade.” Derrick said, “Bold move. I’ll get it ready.” I told the group, “Let’s head to the gym.”

Alpha Boudreaux said, “After I win, we get this meeting back on task.” Kincade countered, “After I dominate the fight and win your challenge, you get your ass in your care and lick your wounds on the drive home and get out of our territory.” We walked outside. Carry was waiting in the gym, and she looked pissed. She went over to Kincade saying, “Kick his ass, babe. Quickly please, he’s screwing with our schedule.” He kissed her. When he pulled back and smiled at her, “I intend to.”

She walked over and sat down beside Kyler, Ken, and Kevin. Kincade’s parents were here too. I looked around realizing most of the pack was here. I linked my dad, “How did everyone know?” My dad responded, “Well to quote Beta Dylan, I’m so glad you asked. Who’s to say? It was me.” I rolled my eyes.

Matt, Isaac, and Isabella, walked into the gym. I walked over warning, “Matt…” Matt growled, “I know why they are here.” I assured him, “It won’t happen, you know that.” Matt said, “If they mess this day up for Ted….” He linked me, “I’ll tear them to pieces.” I replied, “You’d have to get in line behind my mate apparently.”

Heath walked up asking, “How does this challenging thing work?” I explained, “Once a challenge is issued, it can be accepted or not. Though you are seen as weak if you do not accept. You can’t shift into your wolf or give them control to win. You can’t go for the kill.” Heath smirked and started to walk away.

I questioned him, “What was that?” Heath called, “What was what?” He walked off. I groaned, “Oh boy.” Matt smiled. Oscar and Jenna popped in. Oscar clapped, “Ohhhh I love me a good fight. Say, Alpha Chase am I allowed to light any of these fuckers trying to ruin my brother Mattie over there’s big day on fire?” Matt rolled his eyes. I answered, “No.” Oscar tried, “Singe? Slightly char their clothes? I’m not picky.” I replied, “Of course you’re not.” I walked off because I wasn’t going to say no.

I walked back to the mat. I laid out the rules, “No shifting, and no kill shots. Alpha Boudreaux challenged Lead warrior Kincade and he accepted. Begin the fight.” Alpha Boudreaux decided to taunt Kincade. He said, “After I beat you, I’ll challenge your bitch next. I’ll make you watch as I put her in the hospital.” Everyone snarled.

Kincade lunged forward and pinned Alpha Boudreaux as Carry had. He cut off his windpipe again, then he dislocated Alpha Boudreaux’s shoulder. He howled in pain. Kincade said, “My mate has moves. I thought I’d take you down copying them.” Kyler, Kevin, and Ken nudged Carry. Kincade’s mother was beaming with pride while she hugged Carry. Alpha Boudreaux said, “I conceded.” Kincade sneered, “You are pathetic.” Everyone went wild.

I stepped in, “I declare our lead warrior Kincade the winner of this fight.” Everyone cheered. I turned around to walk off with Kincade when Heath’s voice boomed, “I challenge Alpha Sail to a fight.” Oscar stood whooping and hollering before Jenna laughed and pulled him back to his seat.

Alpha Sail said, “I’ll hurt you.” Heath replied, “I very much doubt that.” I walked over, “No shifting…” Alpha Sail muttered, “He can’t.” I rolled my eyes and continuing, “No kill shots. Begin.” I walked off the mat again.

Matt linked me, “Why did he do that?” I said, “They have a problem with non wolves in positions of power, and they don't want Ted in the pack. Heath is pissed for three reasons.” Matt replied, “Lexi, Sally, and Ted.” I nodded.

Heath used his speed and ended up behind Alpha Sail. Alpha Sail whirled around, and Heath roundhouse kicked him in the face. Alpha Sail went down to a knee and Heath pinned him to the mat. He had his arms locked and his face pressed into the mat. He leaned down and said, “Maybe you could use some non-wolf blood in your pack. Don’t ever insult my people again or I’ll wipe out your pack.” Alpha Sail gulped and said, “I concede.” Heath clapped his hand on Alpha Sail’s cheek twice and said, “Good man.”

I announced, “Heath Scott wins the challenge. Now…” A pop sounded. Matt shouted, “Oscar, get back here!” Oscar smiled at me and said, “I challenge Alpha Roberts. That is the one left, right? Jenna told me their names. I’m sure that’s the one that was left.” I was staring at him in surprise.

Alpha Roberts said, “I accept your challenge, fairy.” Oscar taunted, “An unwise move, but you and your friends appear to be quite dumb. Also my name is Oscar not fairy.” Alpha Roberts growled. I walked back onto the mat. I linked Oscar, “You don’t have to do this.” Oscar disagreed, “I do. I know men like him. I’m standing up for Mattie and my Jenna. Don’t tell me they didn’t insult her. I can already tell they don’t think much of women. They are here to try to make Matt stand down, but they also planned to bypass my Jenna In the process. I will not let that go. For either of them, they are my family now.”

I sighed. “No shifting, no kill shots. Begin.” Matt was holding Jenna back. Alpha Roberts lunged for Oscar who popped behind him. Alpha Roberts shouted, “YOU CAN’T DO THAT!” Oscar laughed, “Oh but I can. Your rules clearly state no shifting or kill shots. They say nothing about the things I cannot do. It’s very short sighted of you all, but then again….”
