Heath flashed in through the, now wide open, door. He announced, “They are five minutes out. Not to state the obvious but we could just throw them out.” I agreed, “We could. It would be in poor form as an Alpha not to listen to their grievances.” Heath countered, “You have no intention of letting them stop the wedding though. Correct?” I said, “No, the most they will do is stall the start.” Heath snorted, “Sure.”

I explained, “If they want to keep arguing it will stall the beginning.” Heath disagreed, “No, it won’t. See when my little sister has herself a schedule, HEAVEN HELP the person who gets in the way of her perfectly timed, down to the actual minute, schedule. Seriously, I pray for you on my niece and nephew’s birthday, Chase. She is VERY detail oriented. I make her plan my parties without a schedule. Just a basic outline. Her brain just can’t handle things not going according to the timeline if there is one. I was actually surprised Ted set out a schedule he wanted. We ALL know how she gets.”

I nodded saying, “That’s good to know. We just need to get them out before then.” My dad laughed, “I can’t wait to see my pregnant, soon to be daughter in law, give them hell. When will she no longer be my future daughter in law, son?” I admitted, “We haven’t talked about timelines yet.”

Heath turned to my dad saying, “I’ll bet she picks early April.” My dad theorized, “She seems more like a summer girl. You’re on.” I asked, “Dad, are you insane? He’s her brother.” They shook hands anyway. I asked, “Why do you think she will pick early April?” Heath answered, “Our parents' wedding anniversary is in early April.” My dad frowned, “I think I've been bamboozled.” I said, “I warned you. That was self-inflicted, and I have no sympathy for you.”

Kincade walked in with a hard-set face. Carry looked upset herself, standing behind him with her arms crossed. Kevin walked in next anger coloring his expression. Kincade announced, “Kyler and Ken are at Ted's house with Mark guarding the perimeter.” I nodded.

He continued, “In other news, we have unannounced visitors who demand an audience with you.” I asked, “Do they now?” Kincade nodded, “Yes, Alpha Sail, Alpha Roberts, and Alpha Boudreaux just showed up. I have our men keeping them in the driveway.”

I linked Nadine, “Get Susie out of the house. I don’t want there to be even the slightest possibility that she will hear these fucked up people's grievances.” Nadine replied, “We are leaving now. We will go to Isabella’s.” I said, “Thank you.”

I ordered Kincade, “Keep them waiting. Nadine is bringing Susie down, and I won’t have her hearing this.” My dad smiled. Kincade nodded while Kevin smirked. Carry looked down trying and failing to hide her smile.

Susie squealed and ran into my arms. She said, “Happy Valentine’s Day, Chase! Where’s Cameron? I got you both your favorite chocolates.” She handed me Godiva dark chocolate.” I cooed at her, “You are the sweetest little sister. Cameron is taking care of Reagan. I have your present here.” I got out a jewelry box. I handed it to her saying, “Wait to open it until you are Isabella’s. Ok?” She sighed but nodded. She said, “Mommy, can I call Bash? Is he coming today?” Now my dad and I both sighed as Nadine closed the door.

I put that out of my mind then nodded to Kincade, “Let them in.” Kincade linked our men and a few moments later all three Alpha’s filled my living room. One was carrying a folder. I greeted them, “Alpha Sail, Alpha Roberts, and Alpha Boudreaux. You do know the proper protocol is to REQUEST an audience with me. You are not in your territories or even your state. You do not make demands here.”

Alpha Boudreaux stepped forward, “We apologize for the wording, we just need to speak with you on a matter of importance.” I replied, “I think we disagree on the matter of importance, but please step into my office.” We all walked inside and sat down.

I gestured to them saying, “The floor is yours.” Alpha Sail asked, “Who is he?” He pointed at Heath. I said, “You are here about my Beta and his mate’s wedding, are you not?” All the men nodded. I said, “I obviously represent both as their Alpha; however, Ted is still involved with his people. Surely you’ve heard by now he’s Hood.” They all nodded.

I explained, “I called the Hood and requested representation. As this matter concerned my pack and a man who he considered family along with my mate, Heath Scott came himself.” All of the men winced. We sat in an awkward silence for several moments. Finally, I spoke, “You drove all the way here and then said you needed to talk for us all to sit in silence? I have other things to do. My best friend is getting married today.” I stood to leave.

Alpha Boudreaux slammed his hands on my desk, “It’s not right! You cannot allow this! Not for your Beta, Alpha Chase. It shouldn’t be allowed anyway, but to allow a ranked wolf in a position of power to mate with a man. This CANNOT happen.” I pointed out, “They are already marked and mated. Ted is already our Beta Male.”

Alpha Roberts argued, “You could still make him step down. Just pick a different family with Beta blood.” My dad scoffed, “You’re opposed to Jenna too? What did she do?” Alpha Boudreaux said, “Other than she’s a girl? She’s mated to a fairy.” Heath corrected, “She is a woman not a girl, and there are two other brothers in the family.” They flinched not saying anything.

I went with the fairy angle. I said, “You do realize Alpha Eric Conners himself has a partial fairy mate like Jenna Miller. Dad, Heath, do you think Alpha Eric would rip their throat out for disrespecting his Luna? I lean towards yes, but I was out of town for quite some time.”

My dad chuckled, “Oh he’d have killed one of them by now as a message for the other two.” Heath commented, “I don’t know the man that well, but I do know her Hackura brothers. Bjourn in particular. He would have gutted them all like fish by now.”

Alpha Sail asked, “You don’t address them by their titles?” Heath smirked, “I was given permission by Bjourn himself to call him by his given name. We are friends.” Alpha Boudreaux said, “We are getting off topic. Jenna is a girl and not acceptable. Her mate isn’t acceptable because he’s a fairy.” I interjected, “A partial royal fairy, and as Heath said she’s woman not a girl; but you just continue.”

I linked my dad, “Sexist bigot shitheads!” My dad said, “You won’t get any argument from me, son.” Alpha Boudreaux said, “His brothers aren’t here so they aren’t options. We can’t let other wolves think this is ok. This isn’t right, it’s not natural.” I said, “We disagree there. You can take it up with the goddess. They are fated mates.”

Alpha Boudreaux exclaimed, “Bullshit. Beta Matt just wanted him, so he marked him.” I injected steel into my tone, “You’re calling my Beta, my brother, and myself liars?” Alpha Boudreaux said, “Not you or your brother.” I argued, “But you are. I was there when Matt and Ted met, as was Cameron. They are fated by the goddess, not chosen mates. They hadn’t even met until Matt jumped in to save Ted and protect his future Luna. To be blunt, what you believe is not my concern. This isn’t your pack, it's mine.”

Alpha Sail said, “This is bullshit! We’ve got packs up here going crazy! You’re letting non-wolf members into positions of power.” I growled, “WATCH YOURSELVES!” They all shrank back. I stood, “My mate is one of those people you’re talking about. ONE more word about that subject, and I’ll take your presence here as an act of war between our states.”

Alpha Boudreaux said, “How would it be an act of war?” I snarled, “I would see it as trying to separate me from my Luna. My allies would join me in war regardless, but I do believe two other; no, three other Alpha’s would feel the same way I do.”

I snapped my fingers as if I was trying to remember their names. I said, “Dad, what are those Alpha’s names again? Matt is usually here to supply such answers.” My dad playfully tapped his chin answering, “Well, obviously Alpha Lucas would be upset. His mate is the Water Fairy Duchess.” I agreed, “Right, Alpha Lucas. Then of course we have Alpha Tucker. Both of them LOVE their Water Fairy Duchess Luna’s. Then there’s…. gosh it’s on the tip of my tongue….”

I snapped my fingers then looked at my mate’s brother, “Heath, we were just talking about him.” Heath supplied, “Alpha Eric Conners.” I smiled, “Right! Thank you. Alpha Eric Conners. We ALL know how he feels about people trying to separate him from his Angel. That’s what he calls her by the way, his Angel.”

I let that information sit with them. I said, “You heard what he did to get her back. See, all I’d have to do is tell him that you don’t like the fact that there are non-wolves in positions of power in my pack. He’d take that the same way I’m about to if you continue talking. He’d think you were trying to separate him from his Luna. Now, he’s a little sensitive about the subject since she was actually taken.”

My dad snorted, “Understatement. He’s murderous when he perceives that to be someone’s intent. He went on a vampire killing spree when his wolf was weak from her being taken from him. The wolf whose name changed because it was a term of endearment by his Angel. He fought on the front line and won. With her by his side, it’s not looking good for you. She’s JUST as crazy about Alpha Eric as he is about her.” I added, “With her by his side we have the backing of the Fae and the Hackura. So, do you want to continue your dumbass prejudice rant about non-wolves in ranked positions of a pack? Or would you like to shut the fuck up?” They didn’t answer.

I took out my phone, “I have Alpha Eric on speed dial. I’m even willing to give you a head start back to Louisiana. I’d bet dollars to dimes you’d be dead LONG before you could ever reach your territory if Alpha Eric hears this shit.” All three men were shaking in fear.

I linked my dad, “Eric is a handy threat to toss around.” My dad agreed. Alpha Sail said, “We are also here to seek an alliance with Alpha Eric.” I snorted, “With how you feel about non-wolves? Are you mad? He’ll kill you for suggesting it.” Alpha Boudreaux said, “We aren't here to talk about Alpha Eric nor our intent to sign an alliance with him. We aren’t even here to talk about non-wolf members. We are here to advise you not to let this happen. You already have three non wolves as the mates to yourself, your Gamma, and…” He twisted his face up in disgust and said, “Your Beta.”

Someone knocked on my door. I nodded to my dad, and he opened it. Carry came in with sandwiches. She said, “Alpha, here’s your lunch.” She had one for me, Heath, and my dad. She turned to walk out, but Alpha Roberts questioned, “Where are our sandwiches?”

She turned to him, “On top of not being a member of this pack, I work for the company that planned this mating ceremony. Bull’s Eye planned to have the lunches catered for the wedding parties. You showed up unannounced therefore my company’s staff is not prepared for you, and our pack staff is FAR too busy to prepare lunch for outsiders wanting to stop our Beta’s mating ceremony.”
