“Hey, Road Captain! Toss these in with the photos, just to really make him understand what’s at stake.” He tossed the second guy my pretty pair of blue lace panties, and I looked at him.
“But…” I protested.
“You want your other clothes back on? Then, shut up. You have two minutes to get dressed.”
He untied one of my hands and legs and stepped back out of the room.
“I need you to ride fast. Here is her address. I want this at the front door, where he can’t miss it. Watch and wait for him to take it before leaving.” Then, he and the other guy walked out the front door.
I had never gotten dressed faster in my life. I tugged on my pants and shoes and said screw my bra and threw on my shirt. I ran to my window. It was still in the morning by the looks of it. I yanked with all my might, and the window actually budged. Holy moly, I might be able to…
I used every ounce of my strength, and I ripped a couple of the nails out of the old, dry wood as I lifted. Once it was open about a foot, I took my chance, and without looking, I slid out of the open window. I took off. I didn’t know where I was or whereI was going, but I started running, putting as much distance between me and the house as possible.
I ran until both my legs and lungs burned, and I saw a few large bushes and dropped into their shade to take a break. I hadn’t heard any yelling, so maybe I had gotten far enough by the time he got back inside. After a while, my breathing went back to normal, and my legs didn’t ache as much, so I took a look around. I was in the middle of some sort of valley, maybe. But there were a lot of farms around, and wait… that was a road! And there were cars driving on it! If I could get there, I would be safe! I stood and started jogging again toward the street.
When my feet hit the pavement, I let out the biggest sigh of relief ever. And when a car started to pull near, I burst into tears as I started to flag them down!
The truck rolled to a stop, and to my relief, I knew the guy driving! What the heck were the odds?
“Hey, baby, little far from home, aren’t you?” Mack pulled his shades down.
“P-please, you have to help me! I was kidnapped, and they were going to use me to hurt Kordell! We need to get out of here! And tell him I’m okay before they hurt him!”
I gasped as the smile dropped from his face, and he quickly looked around us.
“Get in,” he said with a nod.
I jogged around the truck and slid inside. Oh, thank God, thank GOD he was here. Now, I would be safe, and once we got to his clubhouse, I could tell Kordell not to worry, and he would be safe too! I started to cool down and breathe easier as I sat in the car, the AC blasting.
“So… if you were held captive, how did you escape?” he asked as we started driving.
“Well, see, he untied me so I could get dressed…” I held up my wrist, which still had the long rope on it that was supposed tobe around my other wrist. “And he walked outside with another guy, so I went and pushed my window open and just started to run. And I can’t believe it! How lucky I ran into you!”
I smiled at him. It was really lucky that out of everyone I could have run into, it was someone I knew. Someone Kordell trusted.
“Well, fuck, they really are a bunch of stupid fucking idiots, aren’t they? The Suns wouldn’t be able to pull this off alone for damn sure.”
That was a funny thing for him to say because I’d never mentioned it was the Suns who…
No… oh no, no, no!
I looked up from tugging at the ropes on my wrist and saw us turn off from the main road and start driving down a dirt road. In the distance, a small house and barn stood out.
This can’t be happening!
“Wait, what are you doing?! This isn’t the right way. We need to turn around now!”
I desperately turned in my seat to look at him, and he looked so pissed. He quickly reached over and grabbed my bound wrist, yanking the rope so hard that I cried out from the pain.
“Owie! W-why are you doing this! Let go! We need to get away from here! Please! This is the way to the house I just escaped from! Turn around!”
I tried to grab the door handle, and it was locked. There was no way for me to yank it back up since the lock visible in the door had been broken off.
"I know. I’m the one who told them to bring you here in the first fucking place. I’ve used it for years now with my dealings with the Suns. The BLVDs don’t know a thing about it. But I never expected you to see me through this or to know I was involved in the littlekill your boyfriendplan, but here we are,and I can’t have you escaping now. That would ruin everything I’ve been working on for months.”
No, no, no! I have to try and do something to stop him!
I had limited options, so I took my free hand and grabbed his wheel, yanking it hard. We swerved on the road, going into the desert on the shoulder a bit, but he shoved me back against the side window, and I flinched as my head knocked against the glass pretty hard with a sharpbang.
