“Where the fuck did he go?!” one of them yelled, and he was the one I shot first.

I riddled his leg full of bullets, and his scream echoed out into the building as he slammed onto the floor. I kept firing until I emptied the SMG clip into him, and then I pulled myself over to him. The other man started to chuckle as he dipped behind some shelving. I would be finding him next—he could count on that. I started stalking back around the truck, stepping over the first body.

“You guys are FUCKED. I sent a message to the rest of the Suns already. You think you can get away with killing our president and raiding our houses and live to tell it? Funny boy!” his gravelly voice shouted off from across the room.

“It’s funny because we’re not the ones with more bodies all over the ground right now. The era of the Suns getting to do whatever they want is finally coming to an end. I’ll make sure of it,” I growled back.

This fucker needed to keep talking so I could figure out where he was as I moved around.

“You might have gotten a jump on us down here, but those two bodies on the ground and myself are two completely different types of people. I’ve survived wars, boy. You don’t scare me.”

He sounded closer, but I hadn’t seen him yet.

“Isn’t that right, Enforcer?”

His voice was over the top of me, and I looked up and saw a gun barrel come over the edge of the crate I was behind. Ilurched to the side just as he pulled the trigger. Laughter and more gunshots came in my direction as I slid behind another row of shelves.

Fuck, who is this guy? He’s gotta be patched. And he’s obviously in-fucking-sane.

“What’s wrong, boy?! You seemed so confident earlier. Now, you’re running like a scared rabbit. Never faced a real man before?!”

His voice grated at my mind. Who the fuck did he think he was?

I heard footsteps walking. I took the chance to look, and that was when I saw it. The VP patch on his back.

It was Joey Martina. Their sadistic vice president. There were a lot of rumors of the sick things this man had done to get information out of people, and more than one hooker had gone missing after last being seen with him. This was one member I didn’t want to be careless around.

“Didn’t think they would put the vice president in charge of guard duty. But judging by how you move, you must be getting closer to retirement, huh? Why not start now? Walk away, and I’ll let you live out your glory days.” I threw some digs in there at him. Maybe he would reconsider it; maybe he wouldn’t be so fucking loyal to his dead president that he felt the need to die on this hill tonight.

All he did was laugh, stop at the wall, and turn to look at me. Our eyes locked, and he smirked as he said his next words, thick with his Southern accent. “My glory days were in the war, boy. Where I did thangs you could only dream of. One I’m about to use now. Let’s see how well you fight in the dark.”

He pulled the lever, and the lights in the room went completely out, except for some red-coloredEXITlights above the two big garage doors and a smaller door on the side. Thoselights didn’t help me at all when it came to being in these rows of shelves.

I blinked, trying to let my eyes adjust to the dark, but based on the sounds of his footsteps coming, he knew exactly where I was, so I needed to move. I felt along the metal row of the shelf, trying to get to a new spot.

“See, here’s the thing, boy. I don’t know which of you did it, but you BLVDs killed a brother of mine. I won’t let that slide. You’ll get what’s comin’ to ya. I’ll hunt you down before I go outside, and it’s open season on the rest of you.”

He let off a shot, and the location of the flash was right where I had been. I kept moving, trying to keep my steps quiet.

“It’s funny. You’re sitting here, trying to sneak around, but I don’t need sight or sound to find you, boy. I can smell the piss runnin’ down your leg. You’ve never fought someone like me. And you won’t ever again.” He stalked through the shelf next to me, and I froze when he got close to where I was. Shit, I needed to take a chance now.

I stood and popped off some shots at him. I heard bullets ricochet off metal and took off as the sounds of gunfire filled the room, trying to distance myself and get into a better position. Just as his laughter rang out, I heard the side door I had locked get busted open.

“Enforcer?!” a voice called out.

“Here! Watch it. Their vice president is here with me!” I shouted back, but when I did, I heard a gunshot crack, my man groan, and the thud of a body.

FUCK! I opened fire in that direction as I heard footsteps come in with me. One person slammed against the crate I was currently taking cover behind.

“We got your back, Enforcer, don’t worry!”

It was Wilder—thank fuck. I tapped his back. And he turned toward me and leaned in.

“Watch it. He’s different from the rest. It’s like he’s one with the shadows,” I whispered into his ear, and he nodded.

“Gotchu. So, what’s the plan, just open fire and hope for the best?” he asked as he checked his magazine with his small phone flashlight.

I shook my head. “We can’t risk hitting the product anymore. We need to close in and try to push him toward the big doors and take him out there. Take a few guys and go down the back wall. I’ll keep another here with me. Let’s get this bastard.”
