Standing, I flip him off before letting him know where I want the placement of the tattoo he recommended. We go over everything before he gets the stencil ready to go, leading me to the back where his table is set. Motioning for me to strip off my shirt before laying on the white film that covers the table, his head turns to the side while I get the rubber pasties to cover my nipples.
Laying on my back, I keep my stare on the ceiling, the anticipation making my legs shake.
“Easy, sweetness. You’re safe here.”
With those words and the feel of the needle, my body relaxes until I feel my eyelids start to drift. That’s all I remember for drifting off to a dreamless sleep.
CHAPTER TEN
KENNA
“Damn girl.”
Hazel eyes meet mine in the bathroom mirror. Ally stands in the doorway, fully put together in a cropped black and gold shirt, paired with a leather mini skirt and her signature fishnet stockings. This pair has snakes slithering up the side of her thighs and for a small moment that has me pausing. Ignoring the tug at my mind, I look over her make-up, from the winged eyeliner to the ruby red lipstick covering her lips.
“Damn yourself.” I wink, turning back to my reflection.
I peel off the clear film that’s covering my newest addition, using cool water and antibacterial soap to clean it. Ally’s stare lingers on my freshly painted skin.
“That’s some badass ink, Kens.”
Her words are soft as they reach my ears. Memories turn over in my mind, causing my chest to pull tight, gripping my anxiety in an unrelenting hold. The meaning permanently etched on mychest, the reminder forever staring back at me. Squeezing my eyes shut for a split moment until a ding on my phone has them shooting open. That sound has become a smoking gun ever since those texts came in. They haven’t stopped either. Pulling my sports bra over my head to cover my tits, not that Ally cares, I turn to step around her when she stops me.
“You sure you’re up for tonight?” Her question has me pulling back.
My brows dip, “Why wouldn’t I be?”
I never told her about the text from ‘Shadow fucker’ and she’s never cared about how the Stone brothers treated me since she hasn’t been around for the handsy parts. Not that West shows her his true colors anyway. So, my reaction is solely based on her concern when there should be none. Holding her hands up in mock surrender she smiles, a coy look on her face.
“I just thought with Romero being there you wouldn’t want to go.”
Scoffing I step past her, “He’s not even on my radar of things to worry about. Not tonight or any other night.” I throw over my shoulder.
“I’m leaving in ten with or without you!” She yells after me.
I can’t help the laugh that leaves me. I’m the one with the car since hers has been in the shop since the semester started. Another thing she has yet to have fixed, even though she could buy the entire dealership with just her allowance. Rolling my eyes, making my way to the decent sized closet to the far left wall, my phone burns a hole in my pocket with the need to check it. Even when I know better I find myself pulling the sleekiPhone from my back pocket. Flipping it over the screen lights up with two texts. The first one is from Ryker.
Stay away from him tonight, Killer.
But it’s the second one that has my blood running cold.
I can’t wait to see if you taste as good as you look tonight. Do me a favor, Princessa. Turn around so I can see you.
Droppingthe phone on my bed, shaky hands fumble with the blinds on my window, shutting out anyone who might be attempting to see into the two-story window. It’s my fear that keeps the text coming through, ding after ding, each one more chilling than the next.
Spread your wings, little Phoenix. They’ll clip your wings and leave you bare for me.
You’ll burn for him, but would he burn for you?
Slamming my phone down on the dresser, my fingers press down on the side button until it shuts off, my chest heaving the entire time. Who the fuck is this psycho? Knocking at my bedroom door causes me to jump.
“Fuck.” I mumble to myself. “Coming!” I shout at Ally.
“Come on Kens, we’re going to be late.” She whines from the other side of my door.
Sighing, I skip on changing out of my skinny jeans and just grab a clean shirt from a hanger in my closet. Pulling it over my messy bun, a chuckle leaves me when I see what shirt I grabbed. The red rolling stones ribbed T-shirt hugs my frame with cut outs showing the perfect amount of skin on my sides. The necklineis low cut but keeps the goods hidden enough to keep them guessing.
Snatching my keys, phone, and wallet from the dresser I swing open my door, but my mouth clamps shut when it’s not Ally’s hazel eyes I’m staring into. No, it’s the deep brown ones that I’ve been avoiding. West. Flashing me a bright smile his muscles strain under the black fitted tee he paired with dark wash jeans and white Nike shoes. Fuck, he is breathtaking too. All of the Stone brothers are.
