"Yes," she softly replied, nerves flowing through her voice.
She winced and looked down at her hands. Shit. This was already starting off bad.
"Are you okay?" Rogan asked. "Have they been treating you well?"
"I'm okay," she softly spoke. "They're treating me well."
It wasn't a lie. Oliver and Leo had been treating her like aprincess. Well, most of the time. She did curse at them and she had spat at them as well. That resulted in her getting in trouble, but her brother didn't need to know that.
He just needed to know she was doing okay and they weren't harming her. Hedda didn't even know why he was asking that question. It wasn't like he fully cared about that.
"That's good. Where are you and I'll come get you?" he asked.
Her whole body froze at the question. She didn't want him to know where she was and she didn't want to go with him. Hedda didn't answer him because she didn't know how.
"Hedda," Rogan said. "Tell me where you are so I can come get you."
She kept silent. She wasn't ready to see her brother in person. He hadn't tried to contact her since she came to Missouri, so why now? He was growing colder towards her and she didn't know why.
"Hedda," he snapped. "Tell me where the fuck you are so I can come get you."
"I'm okay," she whispered. "I'm really okay here."
Hedda was telling the truth. The twins had been taking great care of her, even if she didn't want it sometimes. If she went with her brother, he wouldn't take care of her. She could go back to the way she was before and she didn't know if she wanted that.
The twins had started to change how she thought. They were breaking down her wall, piece by piece.
"Tell me where the fucking you are so I can come get you," Rogan said. "I'm not asking but I'm telling you."
She clasped her hands together as they started to shake.
Closing her eyes, she took a deep breath in. "I'm okay. They're taking care of me."
"You aren't fucking fine. You can't make decisions right now so I will. Tell me where you are."
Tears burned in the back of her eyes and she blinked several times. She thought she could make decisions for herself, but maybe she couldn't. Oliver and Leo had been making decisions for her since she got here, even if she disagreed with them. They told her countless times they were doing it for her health and safety.
Maybe her brother was doing that as well. He normally had her best interest at the forefront of his mind. Did he still after everything changed?
"I don't like you fucking staying with them," Rogan spat out. "Not one bit. They are not fucking good for you. They are pieces of shit and you need to come home and stay with me."
Anger bubbled inside of Hedda as he called Oliver and Leo pieces of shits. They weren't and her brother had no right to say that.
"Stop," Hedda weakly said. "Don't call them names."
"No, I won’t fucking stop! This is what I'm fucking talking about! They are changing your mind. Turning you against me when I know they aren't good for you!"
Hedda sucked in a breath of air. They weren't turning her against him. Not at all.
"Rogan," she whispered.
"Don't. Just fucking don't," he growled. "I bet they are fucking listening to our conversation, but I don't care. I wantyou home and away from those shit heads. They are manipulating you and I won't stand for it."
Tears formed in her eyes and she blinked several times, trying to not let them drop. Why was he saying all of this? Oliver and Leo weren't anything like that.
"They aren't fucking good for you. If you don't fucking tell me where you are, I'll track you down and take you myself."
Hedda sucked in a breath of air and stared at the phone. She hadn't heard her brother get this way in a long time. Why was he acting so rude?
