"Shut up," Oliver growled. "I bet Hedda knows her brother can be an asshole sometimes."

She nodded her head but kept quiet. There was no doubt that her brother was an asshole. She had thought that maybe he would've checked up on her when she came to Missouri, but she hadn't heard anything from him.

No calls, texts, or even letters. It was like she didn't exist to him anymore.

Everything changed when she killed Richard. She didn't know what, but he stopped talking to her as much. Stopped caring about her and she didn't know what she did wrong.

Hedda loved her brother, always would. And she never thought twice about if he loved her as well, but since the incident, she had questioned it.

Leo sighed and looked back at Hedda. "Your brother wants to talk to you."

Her eyes went wide. He wanted to talk to her? Why?

"You can call him and talk to him," Oliver said as he handed over his phone, Rogan's contact already pulled up. "Said he wanted to talk to you in two days or else he would come here."

Come here and do what? Take her back? Did that meanOliver and Leo didn't want to give her up? Did he come back to get her and take her back to New York?

Hedda stared at the phone, not knowing what to do. Should she call her brother or should she leave him hanging? He hadn't tried to contact her once in the months she had been staying in Missouri. Why was he trying to get in contact with her now?

She made no attempt to pick up the phone. Dread filled her stomach as she stared at his name on the screen.

"It's going to be okay," Leo said. "We can stay here if you want us to or we can leave while you talk to him."

Hedda closed her eyes for a couple of seconds, trying to wrap her brain around everything. What was she going to do?

"I think you should call your brother if you aren't ready to see him face to face," Leo said. "Tell him you're okay and alive. Reassure him."

She took a deep breath and nodded her head. "Stay," she whispered.

She didn't know if they heard her, but she wasn't going to look up at them and find out. Before she could think anything of it, she clicked the call button and waited for him to pick up.

"You've got a day," Rogan answered.

Her eyebrows shot up. A day for what?

"Hi," she softly said, not knowing what else to say.

What was she supposed to say? She didn't know why her brother wanted to talk to her.

"Hedda?" Rogan asked.

"Rogan," she replied.

"Are the twins there?"

Hedda briefly looked up to see the twins still sitting in front of her. "Yes."

They gave her a sense of security as she talked to her brother. She knew her brother wasn't going to do anything, but it helped her. Gave her a little confidence to talk to him.

"Leave," Rogan said.

Her eyes went wide but she didn't look at Oliver or Leo. Her brother meant business and everyone knew that. It was like Rogan knew they were giving her some courage and he didn't want that. Or maybe he didn't know and just didn't want them with her.

She watched out of her peripherals as Oliver and Leo walked out of the living room. Hedda had no doubt they were going to be in the kitchen where they could still hear their conversation. It gave her peace, but at the same time she could still feel the nerves running through her body.

Hedda knew they wouldn't leave her out of their sight, not when she asked them to stay. They told her before they would protect her from anything. Stay with her when she needed it, even if she didn't know it or want it at the time.

"Have they left?" Rogan asked.
