Everything was going to shit. They hadn’t found anything useful since Hedda had gotten taken.
Charlotte had told them they should go to the police, but they knew they couldn’t. Hedda was tied to Rogan, and they didn’t want any trouble. And who knows what the police will be able to do.
Oliver thought about calling Rogan, but what if he was part of it? Or better yet, what would he do to them if they couldn’t find her? He had no doubt Oliver had people watching the house and them.
Which meant Rogan probably knew about Hedda. Was he the reason she was gone?
“He wants to video chat,” Oliver said to Leo.
“Miles?”
He nodded his head. It had been several days since Hedda had been taken. Several long and grueling days. They had exhausted every resource they had trying to find her.
But they hadn’t come up with anything.
She was still missing and they didn’t know what to do. They had reached out to Antonio who worked for This We’ll Defend Security and he hadn’t been able to find out anything either.
Where was she?
There was no record of her going on any flights and no one had seen her get out of the car. Was she even in Missouri? Was she outside of the United States?
“Does he have information?” Leo asked.
Oliver shrugged his shoulders and pulled up his computer. Both of them sat down and Oliver called Miles.
Storm and Miles came up on the screen. He took in their faces and he knew it wasn’t good.
“Yes?” Oliver asked.
He didn’t want to have any small talk. What if Hedda was in danger? What if they were starving her or beating her? They needed to figure out where she was so they could go save her.
“I haven’t heard anything from Hedda since the morning she got taken,” Storm said, her voice small and broken.
It was taking its toll on a lot of people. Charlotte had found out that Hedda had gotten taken and she was devastated. Monroe had heard from eavesdropping on their conversation with Michael and bawled her eyes out.
Everyone was down and sad that Hedda was missing. She was a precious girl.
Oliver closed his eyes for a second. He knew he shouldn’thave expected Storm to hear from Hedda, but he had hoped. He needed to have hope in this.
“Stormy,” Miles gently said. “Can you go up to your playroom and play for a little bit? Daddy needs to talk to Oliver and Leo.”
He never would have thought he would see this side of Miles. He was hard. The rumors about him displayed him as a ruthless killer but with Storm he wasn’t. He was a gentle Daddy who would do anything for her. Did Storm know she had him wrapped around her pinky?
Storm pouted. “But Daddy.”
“No buts. Daddy needs to have a grown up conversation with them. Go play and I’ll come in a few minutes.”
“Okay,” she whispered and got up from her seat.
Oliver knew whatever Miles wanted to talk about wasn’t the best since he asked Storm to leave. Was Hedda okay? Was she dead and Miles was going to break the news to them?
“Give me a couple of seconds,” Miles said.
He watched as Miles pulled out a phone and checked something before putting it away.
“Needed to make sure she was actually in the playroom,” Miles said.
Oliver liked the idea of having a camera in the playroom. They hadn’t put one in there yet, well besides the baby monitor, but they hadn’t used it much. One of them was normally with her.
