The next reason was that when the dead were freaked out, they gave off that weird ass energy that seemed to permeate ever surface around him.
Yeah, he could feel it.
That didn’t make him feel good.
Lastly, Jake just told him to get Holly and go to Julian’s. He only knew Trey was trying to wake the man, and he had to do it. Again, if he didn’t, the man might go postal, and the last thing he wanted was to die by ghost.
Whoever autopsied him would have one hell of a time.
When Julian came back downstairs, he headed toward the living room.
“Okay, what’s going on, and use the radio so Bodhi can hear,” Julian said.
The radio spun.
“MY. SISTER. AND. THE. LADIES. ARE. IN. TROUBLE.”
Julian lifted a brow.
Uh, that didn’t sound good.
So, he went there.
“What kind of trouble are we talking about?” he asked.
Bethany was practically on top of him, and she looked freaked out like she needed to get out of there.
Trey told them.
“THEY. FOUND. A. BODY.”
Julian blinked.
Then, it registered that the man wasn’t kidding. That was why Bethany was stirred up.
Oh, Jesus take the wheel.
Well, so much for them staying off of the police radar. At least it wasn’t in Salem. His sister-in-law wouldn’t have to take her flowers back.
Before he could assess the situation, Julian needed more.
“What do you mean, found a body?”
Bethany took control of the radio, touching it so that she could manipulate the frequency so Bodhi could hear too.
“WE. WERE. SKIING. HAILEY. SLID. OFF. OF. THE. TRAIL. VICTORIA. SAW. A. SPIRIT. SHE. FOLLOWED. IT. THE. WOMAN. WAS. FROZEN. IN. THE. WATER.”
Yeah, that sounded about right.
Why wasn’t he surprised?
Julian warned his wife about stuff like this. Tori left her doors open most of the time. Her excuse was that the dead didn’t bother her.
He on the other hand…
They irritated him.
Bethany continued.
