The situation was weird, but she knew that the men didn’t have to come to them. They didn’t have to include their wives.
But they did.
“What did Bishop say?” she asked.
Lucian was honest.
“I haven’t asked her yet. If she says no, then it’s no. This has to be an all of nothing kind of a deal,” Lucian admitted. “If she says yes, we’re going to test that theory. We’re going to go into the static, and see what happens.”
She wasn’t done.
“Do you want to have sex with Lucian right now?” she asked her husband.
He laughed.
“Not particularly. I’m good with my hand on his arm, or his hand in mine. Here, it’s the connection. There…it’s a different space and time.”
“And there?” she asked.
“Yes. When we’re in the static, it’s a whole different thing. I’m attracted to him, Wyn. I’m not going to lie. Here I have control. There, I’m not able to control that desire. It’s like a built-in mechanism of survival there. We came out of the static, and we didn’t fall into bed. In the static, it took everything to stop it, and we almost didn’t.”
She stared into her husband’s eyes, and she trusted him. She trusted both of them. With a kill switch, she was fine with it.
“Do it.”
His heart skipped.
“Why?”
She looked at Lucian and while talking to Ridge, she wanted him to know this was for him.
“Because I trust him with your heart and soul. If you’re going into the static, and it’s going to be that deep where you could be trapped, I want you to be able to come back to me. If Bishop says yes, I am good with it. I want to see it happen via video call today—if I’m not there. If you begin copulating here, on this plane, I’m having her stop it. If it stays in your minds, like a sexy fantasy, I’m not policing that.”
Ridge knew how hard that had to be for her.
“Thank you for trusting us,” Lucian said.
“You’ve not given me a reason not to trust you. If my husband’s survival is based on you guys being able to pull out of the static, then so be it. If going deep helps us avoid an issue, I want that.”
“When are you going to be here?” he asked.
“We have to stop to fuel up, and then, we’ll be there tonight.”
“I will call you and you can watch.”
She laughed.
“This is a conversation I never thought I’d be having. The watching part, I mean. I knew that you and Lucian were getting closer and closer, but this…”
“It’s ridiculous, but we won’t know until we do it.”
She was aware.
“Call me. I want to see what it looks like on this plane of existence.”
That they could do.
“Wyn,” Lucian said. “I love you.”
