“No. He’s not standing in the mirror,” she began, and then stopped when he stepped right in front of it giving her a full view of him.

Yowza.

He was a mess.

“Oh, I take that back. Jake is in his death state. He’s slipping back and forth between them.”

Bodhi did NOT want to know or see that.

“Go ahead, Hailey, Baby, anchor him.”

She focused on the man she once loved, and knew the man she now loved was sacrificing a lot for this. Since Bodhi wasn’t psychic, and a doctor, he had a scientific brain. This was a lot for him.

“Jake, you have my permission. I’ll anchor you so that you can remain with us.”

He moved so fast, coming at them, that she felt the cold enter her.

It was like getting the chills.

She gasped.

Bodhi held her hand, his fingers over her pulse just in case she needed him. He wasn’t sure what would happen, but he liked to be prepared.

Only, nothing happened.

The room calmed down.

Immediately, she felt a kiss on her cheek, and she relaxed. Jake was there, and from the reflection in the mirror, she could see he was in his regular life state.

His death state was under control.

“Well?” Bodhi asked.

She gave him the good news.

“He’s calmer.”

Bodhi felt that touch to his shoulder, and then, the mirror went icy again. He wasn’t sure what was going to be said.

‘Thank you. I love you both.’

And there it was.

It appeared that they did have a much calmer ghost on their hands.

Hopefully, he’d stay that way.

“Well, that’s reassuring,” he said, still holding her between his legs. “I don’t like surprises that can hurt my fiancée and baby,” he admitted.

Oh, she agreed.

Only, she knew how much she owed him for this. Bodhi had saved their bacon. The man was so strong and protective that it got her all hot and bothered.

Well, she had wanted a shower, but she’d gladly start this party here and now. They could shower after they got dirty in their wedding suite.

Moving, she straddled his lap, and took his face in her hands. Then, she kissed him.

It was deep, it was full of need, and it turned him right on, proving that the dead all around him didn’t really bug him that much.
