Hailey wasn’t expecting it.
Oh, she loved this man so damn much.
She couldn’t help but laugh.
“I’m serious. What do we do? Do we need a witch to make a spell? What?”
She explained.
“He needs my permission, and then, he’ll just tie himself to me. Then, I can keep him calm, but I have another issue right now.”
“What?” Bodhi asked, not sure what could be the problem.
“I can see him.”
He blinked.
“Is he right behind me, hovering over my shoulder? Because my ear is cold.”
Hailey nodded.
Then, she pointed at the mirror.
He didn’t see anything in it except for himself being against her.
“I don’t know why I can see him.”
Oh, she did, and he was right where he’d said. He was staring back through the mirror at her.
He didn’t know, but if she wanted to hang mirrors all over the home he was finishing for her, he didn’t care. As long as the dead man stayed calm, he was welcome to stay with them.
He needed to know the most important part.
“Jake, do you need her to anchor you, and if she does it, will you stop being violent? I don’t mind the anchoring part, but the violence is a no. She could get hurt. Again, because this is important, she’s carrying my child, and you’re not going to hurt my son, like I would never hurt your daughter.”
The mirror went icy with cold, and then, slowly, letters appeared in it.
‘Yes. Then I will be calm. Help me.’
Bodhi made up his mind.
“Do it. I’ll be okay if he’s calm. I’m adjusting to it all already,” he offered. “We’ll be a family.”
She loved him so much.
“Are you sure?” she asked. “Tori said once I do it, I’m kinda stuck with him. I can’t take permission back.”
Once more, the roses shook.
“NO,” Bodhi said, warning the ghost to mind his manners, and he did. It appeared the dead were like petulant children.
The room calmed.
He focused on her.
“Absolutely. He can stay. I don’t mind. Can you see him now?” he asked.
She shook her head.
