Her protectors stepped aside.

He stood easily nine feet tall, with crystal blue eyes and black hair pulled back in a braid. He was

twice as broad as Chase and wore a white linen tunic edged with gold and diamonds. He looked both

ancient and young. More ancient than Theo. He wore a stern expression as he looked out across the

room, but when his eyes met Sabrina’s, they softened. His lips parted, and he kneeled down in front of

her. He studied her with an intense gaze, but she wasn’t afraid of him. Sabrina felt him searching her

hard.

“And this is her fault?”

Kano didn’t reply.

“All things have a beginning. All things have an end. The omen is not the cause. The cause is

already here and has been for some time. You should count yourselves lucky for the warning and

prepare yourself, instead of trying to kill the one being that could be on your side and help you.”

Kronos glared at the men in front of him. “First you abuse my Daughters and now you try to outrightly

kill one because of fear.” He spat out the last word with disgust. “Your time draws near, Elders. Be

thankful for the hours you have left and make the most of them. Do not squander them on petty
