Kronos put his hand gently on Sabrina’s shoulder. “Love her and she will love you. Curse her and
you will be cursed. Kill her and I repay in kind. She will bring you glory or she will bring you to your

He turned to Sabrina and placed his hand on her head. “You have great strength in you, Sabrina.”
Her heart leaped at the sound of him saying her name. “The path before you is a difficult one, but
know you have the strength to walk it. Chase is a good man. Trust him. Love him, and he will be your
light in times of trouble.”
Sabrina nodded and look up at him, feeling there was something else that he wasn’t telling her.
His eyes turned golden and for a moment, she became lost.
She felt sand beneath her feet as she stood looking out on a black sky studded with
diamond stars. A great explosion pushed her to the ground. Grief so intense Sabrina’s heart
shattered into a million pieces. Kronos kneeled next to her and held her as she sobbed.
She jumped back and stared up at him, not understanding what she just saw. He cupped her cheek.
“There are no beginnings without endings, Sabrina,” he said softly. Then he kissed her forehead and
disappeared.
She fell to her knees and leaned on her hands. The room spun around her and Sabrina felt
nauseous. Someone wrapped their arms around her, and she closed her eyes. Richard.
Chase paced in his hotel room. Alex had done a decent job of distracting him, taking him out with
Anna and the kids for an hour of sightseeing. But when Alex had to shake him to get his attention for
