“Yeah,” she breathes. I see her eyes drop down, trailing down my body. Suddenly, I wish we were alone and not in this crowded club.
I reach out and touch her wrist, admiring the delicate gold bracelet on it. Her fingers are lined with matching rings. One of them is encrusted with small diamonds.
“Gold looks really good on you.”
“Thank you. They were a birthday present from my best friend.”
“She has a good eye for jewelry,” I say as I slowly run a finger along her skin.
In a subtle and quick movement, she bites her lower lips. A burst of energy courses through my body. Every bit of her is enticing, and it's making my mind run wild.
Such a fine woman like her, and she’s without a doubt already mine.

“What about the table?” I ask Ethan.
He shrugs. “Save me a seat.”
I trail behind him, rolling my eyes in amusement at my friend’s bravado upon spotting the lovely lady at the bar. Without a second thought, he leaves me and Logan behind.
We go to our table, finding a comfortable angle to watch Ethan work his magic. We’ve seen it countless times before, but something feels different about his body language tonight. He’s always arrogant when he’s flirting, but this time it doesn't feel like it’s all just a show.
“Like anyone you see?” I ask Logan.
He shakes his head. “I’m not really feeling it.”
“Don’t say that. Come on, let’s get some shots to get you started.”
He scoffs. “I know it’s been a while, but slow down. I still remember how you get when tequila’s involved.”
“I wasn’t planning on getting drunk. Yet.” My eye catches a redhead with a sequin dress. She smirks at me and sways her hips as she walks in the opposite direction. “Besides, I wouldn’t want to miss out on seeing the girls here.”
“There’s some influencers over at the windows. Have your pick,” Logan says in a bored tone.
I stretch out my neck to have a look. Five girls have their phones out, recording the bar and themselves. The redhead from earlier joins their little group. She notices me staring and sends me a smile.
I start getting up to go after her, but for some reason, my eyes wander to the bar, where I see Ethan touching the mysterious woman’s face.
“He’s working fast,” I comment, watching as he wipes something off her lips.
Logan hums in agreement as he keeps looking in the same direction I am.
Ethan leans against the counter, momentarily shifting his eyes in our direction. I quickly gesture for him to order us drinks, but he completely ignores me and keeps talking to her.
That son of a bitch.
I yell for him, knowing how much he hates getting interrupted during his 'endeavors.’ But not even that makes him glance. The woman has him hypnotized, judging by the way he stares at her hungrily.
I turn away, looking by the windows to make sure the pretty redhead is still there. A satisfied grin spreads across my face when I spot her.
“I’ll be right back.”
“Bring me a whiskey,” Logan says.
“Ethan will bring drinks.”
