What do you do when fate throws a missed connection from your past into your orbit all these years later?

Spencer Hale moves to Meadow Springs, South Carolina after his best friend’s dad offers him a lead architect position at his construction company. But commuting between two jobs doesn’t leave much time for dates— not that he’s interested anyway.
At least, that’s what Spencer believes until a woman he met one night in college slides into the booth next to him at the local diner. When he sees the engagement ring on her left hand, he squashes the small bit of hope flaring in his chest.

Emmaline Jones feels like her life is perfect. She’s finally engaged to NFL Tight End, Chance Collins and recently moved to Charleston where she works as an ER Nurse.
Now being only half an hour from her hometown of Meadow Springs, she’s ready to start wedding planning with her mom and best friends.
That is until she comes home sick from work to hear moaning from her bedroom and realizes Chance is in their bed with another woman. The only thing Emmaline can think to do is end her relationship, move back home to lick her wounds, and figure out what this means for her future.

Emmaline’s ex becomes increasingly unpredictable, and Spencer grows tired of fielding advances from the single women and their mothers in town. So, to get everyone off their backs, the two hatch a plan: pretend to date one another.

An easy friendship blooms between the two. But how long can feelings from the past stay buried when the lines of what’s real and what’s fake, start to blur?
