Not that I could ever tell her that because I didn’t want to scare her or create worry if she didn’t feel the same way. But I also couldn’t deny the emotions that constantly consumed my every thought because they were so different than anything I’d ever experienced before.

I was flipping the bacon in the skillet when Bella walked in.

“Perfect timing,” I said, glancing over my shoulder. “Breakfast will be ready in a few minutes.”

“Thank you, but you didn’t have to cook for me. I usually just do one of my smoothies.”

“It’s already made and by the Keurig. I’m making spinach and egg white omelets, as well as turkey bacon. Wasn’t sure what you might like, but it will be ready in a few minutes.”

“Can I help with anything?” she asked, standing beside me, looking up under thick, dark lashes.

A flashback of admiring her same features as she sucked my cock popped into my head, causing me to get distracted as a splatter of grease popped and burned my hand.

“Shit,” I cursed, pulling it away quickly.

“Are you okay?” She reached for my hand to check it, but I focused on the stove instead. We were lucky I had gotten this far with cooking without burning the house down; no need to tempt the universe.

“I’m fine, thank you. This is one of the few meals I can usually make without catching anything on fire,” I explained, turning the burner off and setting the hot pan on one of the back burners.

“Are you sure? I can get some ice or something,” she offered.

“Nah, I’m okay. Really. I burn myself all the time while cooking. Usually, bacon doesn’t startle me that easy, but I was distracted.”

A faint blush crept up her cheeks.

“Also, just because I eat this doesn’t mean it’s edible. You don’t have to eat it if you don’t want to. Also, your smoothie seemed pretty self-explanatory, so I hope I didn’t screw that up.”

“I’m sure everything is perfect.” She smiled at me as she reached into the cabinet and took out some plates.

I was surprised when she grabbed an omelet and some bacon for herself, but the pride radiated off my face as she took a bite and didn’t immediately cringe. Instead, her eyes widened as if she couldn’t believe it tasted good and was pleasantly surprised.

I cut a piece with my fork and took a bite, relieved that it was how it usually tasted. It wasn’t like I grew up with gourmet food, so I didn’t have high expectations of what it should taste like. But then again, my basis for comparison had always been stale cereal, so it wasn’t like I knew what others considered good food either.

“This is really good, thank you,” she said, wiping her mouth with a napkin as she chewed.

“You’re welcome. I’m glad you like it.”

“So, what’s on your agenda for today?” she asked, taking a drink.

“I’m going shopping with Capshaw this morning, and then he wanted to check out some options for the bachelor party he insists on throwing. You?”

“I have a photo shoot this morning with Kensy, and then we’re going shopping too.”

“For wedding stuff?”

She shook her head, another adorable blush kissing her skin.

“Do I want to know?” I asked, my voice straining against my throat as my mind ran wild with ideas.

“Well, she thought I might need something for the wedding night.”

“Like a new outfit to tease me with?” I raised an eyebrow as I waited.

“Maybe.” She giggled and took another bite, letting the fork sit between her lips longer than necessary before she pulled it out.

“You’re gonna be the death of me,” I muttered, shaking my head.

“Well then, I guess I shouldn’t tell you that my photoshoot this morning involves some super risqué lingerie, should I?”
