“You set me up,” he grumbles at me.
My dad’s hand slaps hard against the table getting us to look at him. “You can handle your catfight later. You wanted the help to whack your sister’s husband. He’s dead. The job has been taken care of.”
I raise an eyebrow at him. “We still don’t know how he died.”
He shrugs. “Do we have a deal?”
Andreas’s eyes widen as he considers what is being asked of him. He can’t believe he’s in this situation and I don’t blame him. The truth is, I ran from this life when I could and returned when I needed the help.
“We have a deal,” Andreas mutters while looking my father in the eye.
“There are some rules you’ll have to follow if you’re going to be under my umbrella. You need to pay attention.”
Andreas nods his agreement. “Yes, I’m listening.”
“When I call, you come running. I don’t care if you’re balls deep in a woman.”
I choke on my spit. “Gross,” I grumbled to myself and earned a look from my father.
“Furthermore, any business discussed within this family is kept here. You can do what you want on the outside, but you show respect to us. We’re the ones who are keeping you out of the hot seat. Do you understand?”
“Yes,” Andreas states.
“I have something more to add about Derek which might interest you all,” Miklos begins and lays out some pages before us. “This is the information we have found from Derek’s home. It looks like he has a couple of more accounts that have been found.”
“How many more?” I ask.
“Enough to cause some waves for the detective looking into your sister and your lady,” my dad’s trusty sidekick filters in.
I look at the numbers and am shocked to see it is in the hundreds of thousands of dollars. “Where did he get this money?”
“This is the best part of the whole situation. He got it from setting up an online poker tournament in which he filters all of the winnings into his account,” Greg informs us. “He has been doing this for over a year, and all of this money is untouched and untraceable.”
“What did you do to the detective?” Andreas asks. I see he didn’t grow up in this lifestyle since he would have known not to ask questions like this if he had.
“Let’s just say we did something or maybe we didn’t. It is not known,” Greg implies casually. “As someone who has been withStavros for the majority of his life, I’m obligated to inform you of something about your girl.”
My throat goes dry. What the hell happened now? “Yeah?”
“She’s not out yet.”
“What does he mean?” Andreas questions.
“How many?” I ask.
“Two more came through.”
“If someone doesn’t answer me right now, I’m going to get pissed!” Andreas yells out.
“There have been two more price tags placed on Audrina’s head,” I inform him.
“What do you mean bymore?”
“When she was in the hospital, there was a bid made on her head. It came here,” I tell him.
He’s pissed, and I can see he’s about to wage his own war until he gets the information. “Where did they come from? Who just calls and tries to kill someone?”
I don’t point out that he did the exact same thing. It isn’t my place to remind him he also put a bid in.
