“Normally it would be, but several bank accounts have been opened up and are holding a large sum of money,” I contribute. “So, you see, no. That deal is not fair. All the money that has been added to the accounts will be divided equally between both parties and then Mr. Bancroft will not be allowed to sign his wife’s name to the account ledgers anymore.”
I shouldn’t have added the last part, but I needed them to know what I knew.
“Are you fucking kidding me?” Derek blurts and pushes out of his seat. “This is what you’re going to pull?”
“Also, the pre-nuptial agreement terms and conditions were null and void due to the infidelity on Mr. Bancroft’s part,” I throw out to drive the knife in quicker.
I’m proud of Audrina for keeping her calm throughout this meeting because she has every right to be upset. We are talking about her.
Andreas hasn’t said anything yet, and I’m surprised he hasn’t voiced his opinion on what is happening.
“No! I-”
Russell shuts his client off, and Derek should be happy about that. “Where is the evidence of these accounts and infidelity?”
I slide over the information I have gathered to Cassidy, who scans the documents. Her eyes widened while she read the account information. Judging by the look in her eyes, she’s surprised about this information I did find. The message is clear. I’m not fucking around here.
She then slides the information down to Derek and Russell. “It seems the information is correct. It has been notarized and time-stamped.”
“This is bull shit!” Derek yells.
With the money he has been hiding, Derek could have just changed his name and moved to a different country.
Audrina shakes a little beside me, and I place my hand on her lap. The move doesn’t go unnoticed by Derek, who quickly jumps up.
“You’re fucking your attorney?” Derek shouts and gets into Audrina’s face. “Of all of the bull shit that we have been through, this is what you do?”
Audrina quickly stood up in her seat and got back into his face. “I didn’t do anything to us. You were the one who gave up on us,” she informs him.
The other man shakes his head. “If you would have been a better wife, none of this would have happened.”
Andreas gets out of his seat and steps between them. Looking at both men, it is clear who will win this battle.
Cassidy speaks up, trying to get everyone to calm down. “This is the kind of behavior that will be told to the court,” she says, slamming her hand on the desk. “Everyone, sit down, or we must close this mediation.”
I put my hand up to indicate I have something to say. “My client and I immediately request for the terms of our conditions to be met, or there would be no deal.”
Derek’s eyes are trained on Audrina, and he’s looking for something to say.
Cassidy looks around the table before clearing her throat. “If we don’t come to a conclusion today, I will recommend that this be referred to the judge.”
Audrina’s breathing picked up, and I directed her back to her seat. I’m proud of her for controlling her emotions, and I want to tell her how proud I am of her.
“This is ridiculous,” Andreas mutters under his breath. “I want to add one thing- the intimidation tactics occurring between Mr. Bancroft and my sister will end.”
“What intimidation tactics?” Russell asks.
“Don’t act like you weren’t aware that your client slashed my sister’s tires this morning and then smashed her window,” Andreas growls out.
I want to punch him in the face for jumping into my argument. I’m perfectly capable of handling my case. Plus, Russell is a little bitch of an attorney who needs to get knocked down a peg.
I raise my hand to get everyone’s attention and clear my throat. “I want to put it on the record that none of the money which has been stashed in these offshore accounts will be touched until after court. There will be no big purchases, closing of the accounts, or moving the money. As the law states and as these two are legally married, any money made will be considered a marital asset,” I list off. “Do I make myself clear? You will not want to see me on the other side of the courtroom if I find out this money has been touched.”
Derek leaps in front of Audrina with venom dripping from his words. “You stupid bitch. You couldn’t leave shit alone. We’re all going to be in trouble now.”
