What kind of dumbass vandalizes his future ex-wife’s car the day he goes in for a mediation? A dumbass who’s about to be in the worst shock of his life after he realizes what we know.

I’m pissed as fuck, and I can tell Andreas is feeling the rage as well. The thing is, I have no stakes in that game besides making sure my client gets represented well for this.

I’m going to to try to believe that’s the only reason.

After running into Britney and Audrina at the bar, Andreas made me promise that I wouldn’t try to pick up Audrina. I’ve done a lot of stupid shit, but I would never jeopardize a client’s case because I’m thinking with the head in my pants instead of the head on my shoulders.

Sure, having Audrinaclose to me at the bar was nice. Yes, I liked smelling the sweet feminine smell that only Audrina has. But she is a client.

I’m trying to get my demeanor back and calm myself down before walking into the mediation room and wanting to kick it over.

Fuck Derek, and fuck his stupid attorney, too. Russell is a stupid ass dick head who is going to fry.

I grab the rest of the documents off the desk and walk towards our meeting room. Usually, I wouldn’t allow someone’s family member in the room, but it is Andreas. Plus, Andreas would kick my ass if he didn’t get a chance to see what was about to happen.

“Let’s go,” I tell them, pointing towards our meeting room.

Seated in front of us are Derek and Russell. Next to Russell is the mediator with whom I’ve worked with before. She’s a pretty young thing who has a body built like a porn star. Unfortunately, she’s not doing anything for me anymore.

Cassidy, the mediator, is excellent in bed. I’ve been down the road a couple of times, and I’m trying to think with my brain instead of remembering all of the ways I bent her body on her bed.

“Welcome,” Cassidy chirps while looking me up and down. She’s looking at me like she wants more, and for some reason, I care to not admit to myself I’m not even interested.

I shake everyone’s hand before beginning, and Audrina sits in one of the chairs across from Derek. She doesn’t say anything or indicate anything about the vandalism this morning.

Andreas sits next to his sister with his eyes trained on Derek.

In the light of day, Derek looks like the complete idiot I view him as. What kind of man would let someone like Audrina go? Audrina’s perfect.

Jesus.

Cassidy smiles at Andreas and gives him a side eye that tells me they’ve also hooked up.

“Before we begin, I want to remind everyone of the purpose of this meeting. While this meeting is confidential to a point, if there are indications of someone being hurt or hurting themselves, along with the potential of hurting someone, it will be reported,” Cassidy states. “Also, I recommend both parties converse with their attorneys before communicating during thismeeting. I am an officer of the court and will have to convey the details of this meeting to the judge. Does everyone understand?”

Audrina nods at me, and Derek follows suit with his attorney.

“According to the notes, both parties entered a pre-nuptial agreement stating that all married assets will be split evenly between the two parties. It is also important to note that no children were born during this union. Also, it is important to note that all debts which have been accumulated during this union will be discussed,” Cassidy continues.

Audrina’s breathing catches in her throat, but she doesn’t make it known to anyone else that she is upset. I would be upset, too, if I were married to a dickless wonder.

“To keep this out of court, what are both parties willing to agree to?”

I don’t speak first. This is a habit I have picked up from being an attorney in this field for this long. I will never let opposing counsel know my thoughts and what would get me to shut up. No, I wait my turn, and then it is my turn to shake some shit up.

Russell opens his mouth first. The man looks like the weasel; he is in a cheap suit and has too much cologne. He’s a worm.

“My client has offered to pay for Mrs. Bancroft to remain in her apartment for the rest of the year, and then all debt acquired throughout the marriage will be the responsibility of the person who accumulated the debt,” Russell advises with his squeaky voice.

Audrina’s hands grip and then loosen around the skirt of her dress. I can tell she’s wanting to say something.

I place my hand on her thigh and squeeze just enough to get her to see she’s okay. I’m not going to let these dick weeds push me around.

“No,” I state and raise an eyebrow.

“Excuse me? That is more than fair,” Russell adds.
