“That I’m yours.” I say in a calm voice.

“Exactly we should finally make that official. I’ll let you think about that.”

“Is that you asking me?”

“Don’t worry I do have a ring.” He climbs off and I’m completely stunned right now. Is this really something he wants? I grab his hand and pull him back to me.

“Where are you going?” I ask.

“To the hospital to see my nephew and to give you some time to process.”

“Do you really want to marry me?”

“Since the day I met you Katy. You always have been mine and I’m not going to let any more men have what’s mine.” He walks out of the room not saying another word. Nikki is such a matchmaker it’s not even funny, but the real question is can I do this? Yes bitch you can we waited way to long for this. The voice in the back of my head says. What should I do? Take your man bitch. I shake my head. Why the hell am I hesitating for Daniel is finally in my reach, why am I hesitating? Don’t be stupid Kate this is the moment you been waiting for it’s time to finally get what I want, what I deserve and that’s Daniel.

Chapter Three

Daniel

Opening the safe I grab the ring and look at it and smile. Nikki deserves ice cream she’s a little matchmaker. When she gets someone in her sight she doesn't give up on it at all, not until it’s set and done. I place the ring back into the safe. My phone goes off I looked down and saw Jasper’s name on my screen.

Jasper- You have a package at the casino. Do you want me to bring it to you or are you coming to get it?

Daniel- I’ll come and get it see you soon.

Jasper- Just come to the office.

When I look at Katy she looks so relaxed and I don’t know how, after what I told her about her father. She might me calm, but I’m fucking not. I don’t even know who he will send to take her. I’m not going to let that piece of shit hurt her anymore. I won’t let her out of my sight. I felt hands on my face I snapped out of it and looked into Katy’s eyes.

“Are you okay Daniel?” she asks softly. I place my hands on her waist and pull her closer to me I lay my head on her shoulder and breath her in. She is safe she is going to be just fine, nobody is going to hurt her. Kate wraps her arms around me and I just relax in her arms.

“I’m okay Daniel you don’t need to worry.”

“But I do, have to. I don’t trust him Katy and if anything happens to you I don’t know what I would do. I can’t lose you, I won’t.”

“I’m not going anywhere baby.” My eyes shot open in shock. It’s been a long time since she called me that. I miss being this close to her and I’m not going to let her go.

Fifteen Years Ago (Daniel)

Today is my birthday, I’m thirteen now and I got almost everything I wanted today has been a good day. Dad didn’t do any business stuff today and I got to see the Jerome family, they are like my family.

“How did you like your birthday kiddo?” Dad asks and I smile.

“It was great Dad thanks for taking today off.”

“Of course you only turn thirteen once, you are a man now and I couldn’t be more proud of you.” I smile.

“Thanks Dad. I was going to go into the woods in the yard if that’s okay.”

“That’s fine, just be careful and find your brother first he was looking for you.”

“Will do.”

“There you are I’ve been looking everywhere for you.”

“Sorry is something wrong?” I ask.

“No, I have a surprise for you.”
