“Right you didn’t yell at the nurse to tell you what room Ray was in because you weren’t worried at all.” I say in a sarcastic tone. One day he will come to terms with his feelings for Ray, today is not that day, but someday soon.

“Kate you should go home, I'll take it from here.” Toby says with a serious face on.

“It’s okay Toby I can stay, you should go back to the others.”

“No, you been here for hours I can stay, you go home.”

“Okay fine, keep an eye on him Toby I mean it.”

“I will.” I left the hospital and drove to the Jerome house when I got inside Thea looks exhausted.

“Kate. How is Ray?” She asked with concern written all over her face.

“He’s okay it wasn’t that bad.”

“That’s good. Can you do me a favor Kate?”

“Sure. What is it?”

“Some of the kids are ill and I had to separate them so the others don’t get sick. Can you go to the store and get some soup, crackers and medicine for them.”

“Sure, not a problem.”

“Thank you so much, dealing with three sick kids is a lot to handle.”

“I bet it is. I’ll get the stuff right away.”

“Thank you again Kate.” I got back in the car and drive to the nearest store. A shiver went up my spine and not the good kind. I turn around I didn’t see anything, something feels off, I don’t have a good feeling. I need to be extra careful. I grab everything that was needed for the kids then went straight to the car and placed the bags inside. I turn around and see a man and before I could do anything I get hit with something and my head bounces off the car window and everything goes black.

Chapter Five

Daniel

Even though they say Ray is going to be fine, I’m still worried about him he’s been a little distracted lately and in his line of work you can’t afford to be distracted. With everything going on nobody has had time to relax and that’s what this family needs, a day for us all to relax without worrying about business or anything work related.

“What’s wrong Daniel?” Hearing Spencer’s voice snapped me out of it.

“Nothing is wrong, was just thinking.”

“What were you thinking about?”

“With everything going on and with what just happened with Ray I think we should do a family day once a week when we are all together relaxing having fun. And not doing any business or work stuff on that day.”

“That’s a great idea. We can do family day on the weekends, we can start next weekend and since it’s summer, we can go to the lake the kids love it there.”

“Sounds great.” I’m really glad Spencer likes the idea, this family can really use a nice break once in awhile just to hang out with each other with no drama attached to it. JJ walks in and he looks stressed out, more than usual.

“Is something bothering you JJ?” I ask, concerned. I don’t like the look in his eyes, something is definitely wrong.

“Nothing for you to worry about.”

“I’m sorry have you met this family it’s all we do is worry about our family.”

“If it’s something serious I’ll let you know.” I sigh. He was always the quiet one he always kept it bottled up until he snaps.

“Just know I’m here if you need me, no matter what all you have to do is talk to me.”

“I know, thank you Daniel.” I have a bad feeling about this, but I know I can’t push him to tell me what’s going on it will only make him close up even more. JJ gives me a big smile it’s a genuine smile, but I know there’s something really bothering him and I hate it.
