“Katy what’s wrong?” Daniel asked nervously.

“Ray is at the hospital I don’t know how serious it is. I’m going to tell the others I’ll keep you updated.”

“Go. Let me know how he is when you get there.”

“I will.” I got into the car and drive as fast as I can to the hospital. I rush inside and that’s when I see nurse Johnson.

“Take a deep breath Kate. Ray was shot, but it didn’t hit any major arteries he’s going to be just fine. He should be out any minute now.”

“Thank you nurse Johnson.”

“You’re welcome.”

Kate- Ray been shot but nurse Johnson says he will be just fine.

Daniel- Thank god. I’ll tell the others. Keep us updated on how he is. I know how Miss Johnson is when we are all there at the same time.

Kate- Yes I know. I’ll check in with you guys every hour.

Daniel- Sounds good. Tell him we are thinking about him.

Kate- I will.

I start pacing waiting for nurse Johnson to come and get me. I need to see him with my own eyes to know if he’s really okay.

“Kate come with me.” Finally, I walk into Ray’s room and he is slowly waking up.

“Hey Ray how are you feeling?”

“Kate, I’m okay really it wasn’t that bad.”

“This time it wasn’t doesn’t mean it won’t be next time you need to be more careful Ray.”

“I know this one was on me I got distracted when a kid ran by and I was trying to keep the guys focus on me instead of the kids.”

“You are a good man and cop, you don’t usually get distracted Ray what’s going on?”

“Nothing really.”

“Just tell me where his fucking room is!” I know that voice, Toby. I knew he cared.

“Sir please.”

“Tell me where he is damn it!”

“He’s making a scene, Kate.” I laugh.

“I got it.” I walk out of his room and Toby looks pissed and worried all at the same time.

“Toby stop making a damn scene.” I waved him over and he rushed inside the room.

“How are you feeling?” Toby asks and I smile look who’s starting to care.

“I’m fine, Toby.”

“Fine, you been shot and your fine.” Toby says angrily and I don’t blame him this could’ve been worse.

“The guy who shot me was too jumpy to do any good damage.”
