Page 4 of My Good Luck Charm

Chapter Two

Thea

Mom- I'm going out of town be a good girl and don't cause any problems I mean it.

Thea- Go to hell.

That women is unfucking believable the fact that she thinks she can rule my life is funny. Getting dressed for work I sigh when I hear my phone buzz.

Mom- One more thing this will help you later on do as your told and you will be just fine. Be smart and be a good girl.

What the fuck is that supposed to even mean, she makes no fucking sense half the fucking time, this makes no sense what is she trying to say? When I get to work I make fresh cupcakes first. I don't even want to deal with customers today that's how much my mom has been irritating me lately. My boss slowly brushes past me and it gives me the chills and not the good kind either. I love my job, I always loved baking ever since I was a little girl my dad always let me help him when he was baking it's the best memory I have of him. I lost him when I was very young because of him I love to bake. One day I want to have my own bakery it's going to take me sometime, but I will do it. It's almost closing time so I go to the back and put some Red velvet cupcakes in two bags. I hear the door open and sighed, can't they read the sign.

“Sorry we are closed.”

“Yeah I know that.” I would know that voice anywhere. I walk back and see Jasper I knew I was right.

“Hey Jasper, what are you doing here at this time?” I ask surprised as he usually doesn’t come in on Mondays.

“For you actually.”

“Is that so?” Jasper and I walk out of the bakery. I look up at him and he looks nervous. I wonder why.

“What's going on Jasper?” I give him a questioning stare.

“I need you to come with me.”

“Come with you where?”

“To the house.”

“Why?” I ask curiously.

“Please just come with me everything will be explained when we get there.”

“Jasper, you're worrying me.”

“I'm sorry I don't want to worry you, but I also don't want to be the one to tell you what happened today.” I can tell by the look on his face he really doesn’t want to tell me at all.

“Does this have to do with my mother?”

“Yes it does.” That's just fucking great. What the fuck did she do now?

“Alright Jasper take me home.” He smiles at me and I smile back it's been awhile since I’ve been to the house, not since I left it when I was eighteen.

“You still think of that place as home?”

“I do, I always will. I lived there for most of my life.”

“Glad to hear that.” I got into Jasper's car and he drives us home. When I got inside the house it feels good being back here. Everything looks the same nothing has changed. I'm happy about that, it still looks and smells like home. I walk upstairs and head straight into Spencer’s office. When I walk in he didn't look like he’s in a good mood the big question on my mind is what the hell did my mother do?

“Hi Spencer.”

“Hey Thea it’s been a while.” That would be your fault for that.

“It has, but it's not like you don't keep an eye on me anyway. If it's not you it's Jasper always watching me.”

“To make sure your safe.”
